Tony Khan met with Sports Illustrated‘s Justin Barrasso to advertise AEW Dynamite last night and was pressed about Rhodes’ comeback to WWE this past weekend at WrestleMania 38. He acknowledged that he had lost a top talent, but noted that Samoa Joe was making his debut in a qualifier for The Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament versus Max Caster. Khan also mentioned Toni Storm and Jeff Hardy, who were just signed by AEW.

“I did lose a very prominent free agent,” Tony Khan responded. “But we’re debuting one in Samoa Joe. In the past 30 days, we’ve also debuted Toni Storm, who was incredible last week in her win against The Bunny, and Jeff Hardy, one of the biggest stars in wrestling. We have a lot of excitement happening here, and that’s our focus.”

After his WWE return at WrestleMania on Saturday, Cody Rhodes too was questioned about his departure from AEW, which occurred in February. Rhodes stated that he still supports Khan, but that it was time for him to move on, citing a personal issue they couldn’t resolve.
“I chose to remain silent about my departure from AEW and I’m going to keep my word on that. There’s no shoot interview. There’s no nefarious tale that’s going to be told,” said Cody.
