CM Punk criticizes John Cena for not qualifying for the Elimination Chamber
John Cena was known as the workhorse during his full-time tenure in WWE. He was the one who birthed this notion that part-timers such as The Rock were taking away the spotlight from some of the company’s hardest workers. Thus, it is quite ironic to see the Hollywood superstar being criticized for the same thing now.
Speaking on Good Guy/Bad Guy, CM Punk claimed that Cena had gotten a gift of automatically qualifying for the Elimination Chamber. This was only because of how big of a superstar he is. The Second City Saint also said that he would love to work with his former rival during his retirement tour. In case he did not get this opportunity in a singles contest, he wanted to do so inside the Chamber.
During the Royal Rumble post-show press conference, John Cena said that his main-eventing WrestleMania and winning a 17th world title was best for business. He believed that his 23 years of loyal service to the company justified his demand for a spot in the Elimination Chamber. Thus, he was given a direct entry without a qualification match.
