Roman Reigns has been absent from WWE for nearly four months now. He was last seen at WrestleMania XL, where his legendary 1,316-day run with the WWE Undisputed Championship came to an end. With the rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa reaching its boiling point and the second-biggest show of the year right around the corner, it may finally be time for the Tribal Chief to make his return
The latest episode of SmackDown featured a face-to-face segment between Rhodes and Sikoa. The American Nightmare called out his opponent for taking out his friends, Kevin Owens and Randy Orton. He was indebted to them, and he won’t be able to repay that debt if he loses the WWE Undisputed Championship at SummerSlam. Rather, he intended to pay them back with Solo’s blood.
Sikoa then challenged Cody Rhodes to Bloodline rules, claiming that he was more dangerous than ever before and that he wanted to prove it. As he spoke, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu made their entrance. The WWE Undisputed Champion claimed to be unafraid of all of them and accepted the challenge.
Sikoa has been taking shots at Reigns since his absence from WWE. Furthermore, it is no secret that a no-disqualification match involves The Bloodline. This means it is going to be full of interference. Thus, this segment sparked many rumors on social media that the Tribal Chief was finally going to make his return.
The Wrestling World speculates the return of Roman Reigns during SummerSlam
The Bloodline Rules stipulation added to this match has strengthened fans’ belief that Reigns will be returning to WWE at SummerSlam. He could potentially cost Sikoa the WWE Undisputed Championship, and re-unite with The Usos. This would eventually lead to a War Games match between the two segments of the Bloodline.
Fans pointed out that Reigns has been mentioned multiple times on TV over the past few weeks by Solo Sikoa, Cody Rhodes, and even the commentators. This could simply be foreshadowing by the WWE as they hint towards the return of one of their biggest stars.
Adding this stipulation to the feud was also seen as a great decision by the fans. The rivalry between these superstars had grown extremely personal. It makes sense for the two superstars to have a more violent match, rather than a simple grappling match between the ropes. The last time the WWE Universe saw a Bloodline rules match was at SummerSlam last year, between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL.
