“This is awesome!” WWE Universe erupts as RKBro, Street Profits & the Alpha Academy steal the show in Wrestlemania Sunday opener
Wrestlemania Sunday has just kicked off but we might already have witnessed the pop of the night with RKBro, the Street profits and the Alpha Academy putting on one hell of a show in the event opener. High flying action, excellent tag-team work and of course, ‘RKOs’ outta nowhere, the match saw it all and this match certainly proved why it was deserved its place on Wrestlemania Sunday.
RKBro retain their Tag Team titles
After a mesmerising show that WWE showcased on their night one of Wrestlemania, with the homecoming of the Texas Rattlesnake Stone Cold Steve Austin and the most anticipated return of the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes, expectations were certainly high from Night Two. Night Two of the most stupendous Wrestlemania has officially kicked off and it already seems to have delivered the match of the night. The Show opener saw the team of Randy Orton and Riddle: RkBro defend their Raw Tag team Championships in a triple threat match against the Street Profits and the Alpha Academy.
As the match progressed, we witnessed great athleticism by all 6 superstars as the crowd in attendance was forced to stand up on their feet and chant “This is Awesome!”. Ford tags in and attempts to fly onto Orton from the top rope, but Riddle springboards up and hits Ford with a powerful RKO from the top rope. Fans roll out a huge pop. To avoid the pin, Ford rolls to the floor. Orton and Riddle retain as Orton catches Gable with a big RKO in the middle of the ring.
Gable Steveson joins the party
The Street Profits then join RKBro in their post-match celebrations as a mutual display of respect. They bring paper glasses and share some drinks as well as call the Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson in the ring to join the party. The Profits, RK-Bro, and Gable raise their glasses to Wrestlemania when Chad enters and smashes Steveson’s drink from his grip. As the others clear the ring, Steveson removes his shirt.
When Chad is present, Steveson tells him to “Shoooosh!” but Steveson launches him with a massive belly-to-belly throw. As The Profits and RK-Bro cheer him on from ringside, Steveson is pumped up. We’re going to watch the replays. Steveson exits the ring, and the babyfaces finally receive their WrestleMania red Solo cup toast.
