WWE announces Jey Uso vs Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship (via WWE)

The WWE Universe was shocked to see Jey Uso beat Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship on Raw. The result was highly surprising, as the Steiner was very early on into his championship reign, and Triple H generally saves such title changes for big shows. However, it appears that the 26-year-old is not done with the Samoan just yet.

WWE recently announced that Uso would be defending his Intercontinental Championship next week on Raw against the man he won it from. Breakker had seemingly turned face a few weeks ago on Raw when he congratulated the current champion for beating him and told him that he was the better man. However, it all turned out to be a ruse.

On the next episode, Uso successfully defended the Intercontinental Championship against Xavier Woods. Following the match, Bron Breakker ambushed the Samoan with a huge spear. For good measure, he made sure to take out The New Day members alongside him.

This match may be a way of getting the title off of Uso. If the Samoan is set to join Roman Reigns and Jey Uso on SmackDown in their fight against The Bloodline, holding the title while doing so would be impractical. Furthermore, Breakker can continue to rule the mid-card and establish himself as a huge name on the Raw roster.

Fans were thrilled to hear about this rematch on the next episode of Raw. Jey Uso had arguably put on the best singles match of his career against Bron Breakker. Them going face-to-face one more time will surely be a banger. However, what excited fans even more was the possibility of the Bloodline coming down to interfere in this match.

Two significant theories emerged on social media shortly after this announcement. Firstly, Jimmy Uso may come out to help his twin brother retain his championship to prove himself. The 8x Tag Team Champion made an appearance on the latest episode of Raw. He wanted to recruit the Intercontinental Champion to be on his side. However, Jey Uso was having none of it.

Alternatively, the Solo Sikoa-led Bloodline could also interfere during this match. They could cost their brother his championship, which would motivate him to reunite with the original Bloodline and join their fight. Regardless, fans are surely expecting a great match next week on Raw and a significant story profession with this upcoming match-up.
