Liv Morgan pulled off a shocker at SummerSlam as she retained her Women's World title against Rhea Ripley, thanks to Dominik Mysterio.

Prior to the D-Day in Cleveland, Liv Morgan claimed that she’d complete her revenge tour on Rhea Ripley. And she has done it, no matter via hook or by crook. This was months in the making. The match started with Morgan back peddling from Rhea. However, after a couple of cat-and-mouse chases here and there, Mami flattened Liv with a string of clotheslines. In the meantime, Dominik Mysterio was grinning ear to ear at ringside.

Rhea went for the early kill as she tried to finish the champ with Riptide. Morgan drove Ripley’s shoulder hard into the turnbuckle. The latter screamed in agony, “It’s out,” to her seemingly dislocated shoulder. The referee asked The Eradicator whether she’d like to give up. Guess what? Rhea denied. And then, the Judgment Day member just casually put her shoulder back into the joint by driving her damaged part into the announcer’s table.

But by then, Liv Morgan had sniffed blood. She applied an armbar to Ripley’s less-than-100% shoulder. But the Aussie grappler reversed the maneuver by giving Liv a powerbomb. The former Riott Squad member even brought in a steel chair but to no avail. The Nightmare tried to return the favor to Morgan by hitting her with that chair. But Mysterio grabbed it and asked Ripley to stop as she couldn’t win the title by getting disqualified.

Morgan hit Ripley with Oblivion but the latter powered out. Just then, Dirty Dom grabbed referee’s attention, allowing Liv to retain as she planted Rhea with another Oblivion, but this time on a steel chair. Just like that, Liv Morgan kept her Women’s World title reign intact at SummerSlam.

After that, Mysterio aligned himself with Morgan as he kissed her. In the ring, The Eradicator was torn seeing all that unfold in real time. She just couldn’t believe what she had seen. But for now, that’s really it. Mami will have to accept this and would need some time to process.

The timeline is still in awe of what transpired during the business end of Rhea Ripley vs Liv Morgan. Even though the fans saw it coming, Dom’s betrayal of Ripley hits hard. It has ended their lengthy ties. And now, the 26-year-old is in for something he’s not even aware of.

There’s a ton of reactions that’s flooded the internet. Almost everyone is convinced that Mysterio fumbled up big time. There’s going to be repercussions in the weeks to come. However, there’s a good chunk of folks who’re more than pleased seeing Morgan and Dom as a duo going forward.
