Carlito was revealed to be the unknown attacker of Dragon Lee before his match along with Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania XL. He took his frustration out on Lee after the Lucha legend didn’t pick him as his tag team partner. Although the 45-year-old star thought he had covered his tracks well, his dark secret was revealed in front of the WWE Universe thanks to CCTV footage on Smackdown.

On the latest episode of SmackDown, Santos Escobar led the Legado del Fantasma out and confronted L.W.O. He stayed true to his words and stated that he wasn’t the one who attacked Dragon Lee backstage. Escobar revealed the CCTV footage which showed it was The Caribbean Cool, who launched the attack.

Despite his stellar comeback at Backlash in Puerto Rico last year, Carlito has yet to make a notable impact in WWE. Instead of showing his true personality, which fans loved him for, he was just there as another L.W.O. member. However, after Rey Mysterio picked the former North American Champion over him, his jealousy finally got the better of him.

However, this was not the first time someone had betrayed the Hall of Famer. His son, Dominik Mysterio turned on him at Clash at the Castle in 2022. Not only him, but Escobar also betrayed Rey a few months ago. It will be interesting to see the Lucha legend’s reaction to another heartbreaking betrayal.

The WWE Universe got to know the culprit behind the attack on Dragon Lee was none other than Carlito. While some suffered a genuine shock from the news, others saw this happening from a mile away. As such, they expressed their opinions on social media.

One fan labeled him a traitor after turning on his team members. Another fan stated that someone turning on Rey Mysterio had become a tradition. Meanwhile, some fans were happy to see the 45-year-old finally turning heel. Here are some of the top reactions from fans:

One user shared an entirely different opinion and claimed that Carlito’s attack on Lee was justified. Other fans took a dig at AEW President Tony Khan and joked about Triple H being scared after the backstage attack. Other fans advised the Lucha legend to keep an eye on the other members of L.W.O., warning that they would turn on him too.
