“BEST WRESTLEMANIA MOMENT”: American Nightmare Cody Rhodes returns to WWE to face Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania
Seth Rollins has been on the lookout for a Wrestlemania opponent for weeks now. In the recent years, very few Superstars have had as many Wrestlemania opponents as the Monday Night Messiah. But he just couldn’t find a spot for himself on the Showcase of Immortals card this year!
Rollins tried to get a match as one-half of the Raw Tag Team Champions, but he failed to do that. He tried to take away Kevin Owens’ idea of a talk show at the event, but failed once again. But this wasn’t all. Seth Rollins tried to replace AJ Styles in his match against Edge but came up short once again. After trying for so long, he was summoned to the Chairman Vince McMahon’s office.
The WWE CEO and Chairman revealed that Seth Rollins is going to be Wrestlemania. He will be facing a mystery opponent, selected by none other than McMahon himself. For long it has been speculated that who could the mystery opponent be? – Cody Rhodes? Shane McMahon? The moment is finally here and the opponent is the American Nightmare CODY RHODES.
The former Executive Vice President of All Elite Wrestling Cody Rhodes is back to WWE. The lights went out and the crowd erupted with the chants of Cody. Even after the bell rang, the crowd was buzzing with Cody chants. While the two Superstars have immense ability to deliver the match of the night, it seems the crowd now barely cares about the result.
Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes has been speculated for weeks
Irrespective of the outcome of the match, the highlight of the night is going to be the return of Cody Rhodes. What makes his return all the more exciting is the fact that he is a Superstar who extensively worked in setting up WWE’s biggest rival in recent times – All Elite Wrestling. Innumerable talent have made the jump from WWE to AEW.
Hence, such an integral member of AEW returning to WWE does mean a lot. When Rhodes’ contract expired, speculations were rife that he would return to WWE. There have been rumors for weeks stating he will be facing Seth Rollins. But soon, there were several distractions in the form of Shane McMahon’s return to face Rollins.
