“Oh thank god I’m not there”; When AEW star Jon Moxley blasted Vince McMahon for the poor state of WWE

Jon Moxley and Vince McMahon

Jon Moxley is one of the most popular superstars not only in the AEW, but also in the whole wrestling industry. The former AEW World Champion is known more for his time in WWE, than in AEW. Moxley worked under the ring name of Dean Ambrose in WWE and also achieved the feat of becoming the WWE Champion during his time.

Moxley (f.k.a. Dean Ambrose) left WWE back in 2019 just after WrestleMania 35 when the former WWE Champion refused to re-sign with the company. The decision came after Ambrose turned on his Shield brother Seth Rollins and then lost all the momentum he had built over the years.

The former AEW World Champion lost a lot of matches in the end which was one of the main reasons that he left the company. His Shield brothers Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns tried to convince the Lunatic Fringe to re-sign with the company but the former Intercontinental Champion was very rigid with his decision.

Jon Moxley sat in interview with SEScoops a couple of years ago and blasted Vince McMahon for the poor programming of WWE. Here’s what he said:

“I want WWE to be awesome. Honestly, when WWE sucks at this point I don’t get excited about it like ‘haha, you suck’…Because they are the number one brand in the sport. They represent the sport to a lot of people and when their product is embarrassing to watch, it makes all of wrestling look bad.

“We know what their problem is, it’s one person, 3 letters, VKM, that’s the problem. Until he’s gone or relinquishes control, it’s not going to change. When I watch their show during the pandemic era, or I guess even before, especially during the pandemic era, I’m just like ‘oh thank god I’m not there.’” – Forbes
