“RESPECT”: When 2-time Hall of Famer praised Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

Rock and Flair

The Rock is often considered to be one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. He had kicked off his career as a football player. He had won the national championship in college football. But when he tried to become a professional, he went undrafted in the 1995 NFL Draft. Dwayne Johnson decided to follow the footsteps of his family.

Johnson comes from the iconic Samoan wrestling family, Anoa’i. Being the descendant of iconic professional wrestlers – Peter Maivia and Rocky, The Rock was signed by WWE (then known as WWF) in 1996. After winning fans all over the globe, he went on to pursue a career in Hollywood – where he experienced similar excellence.

In fact, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the highest earning as well as the highest grossing actors in the world. While he has excelled at basically every career that he has taken up, most importantly he is an amazing human being. His social media is proof that the People’s Champion is immensely loved by his family, friends and fans.

The Rock is equally loved by his colleagues. Recently, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair too shared his love and respect for the former Champion. Flair himself is one of the most successful WWE/WWF Superstars of all time. He jointly holds the record for winning the most number of World Titles with John Cena, with 16 reigns each!

Flair had taken to Twitter to share a throwback photo of himself with a young Rock. Flair wrote, “There’s No Bigger Word In The World Than The Word Respect! You Looked Up To Me As A Kid, And I Continuously Look Up To You! WOOOOO!”

Both, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Ric Flair considered to be among the greatest professional wrestlers of all times. Interestingly, Johnson thinks the same about Flair too! A while back a tweet from Fite TV had asked that who would be on the Mount Rushmore of professional wrestling. Johnson responded with his list – which included himself and the two-time Hall of Famer.

Johnson’s Mount Rushmore included Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, Ric Flair and three way tie for the fourth spot – Undertaker, Pat Patterson and Jackie Fargo. He added that Dusty and him would be on the back of the Mount Rushmore!
