Bearcat Wright was an American Professional wrestler and was born on January 13, 1932. Though the mid 1900s saw a lot of racial discrimination in the United States, he struggled and got his name enlisted as one of the mots popular babyfaces of the United States.
His immense popularity grew because of his talent and skills. Every time he wrestled, the fans filled the arenas to see him wrestle. Though he had a very short wrestling career, the impact he created in the industry was very precious. The wrestling legend was seen in WWE for a very brief period and in 2017, was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame.
His wrestling careers many small promotions helped the companies diversify and his accomplishments in numerous promotions are still remembered. Wright, in 1982, met with some sickle cell anemia complications which led to his death at a very early age. The wrestling legend died on August 28, 1982 but still rules in the hearts of many wrestlers.

Lee officially changed his ring name to Keith ‘Bearcat’ Lee and debuted with this name on September 27, 2021 episode of Monday Night Raw. The fans were in doubt regarding why the former NXT Champion give late Bearcat Wright a tribute now.
Bearcat Wright and Keith Lee have a lot of things in common. The most common one being that the two are black. Both the men are considered to have a lot of power and their skills are unmatchable. Late wrestling legend Wright is considered to be the inspiration of current WWE superstar Keith ‘Bearcat’ Lee.
Lee recently took to social media to explain the WWE universe why he was absent for a long period of time. The former NXT Champion said that he had some serious health issues which kept him away from the WWE Universe. Remembering Bearcat Wright, the legend also had some serious health issues which could also be a reason for the tribute.
