But, there’s still something for the Bloodline to achieve as the Usos just hold the Smackdown Tag Titles. Reigns then asked his cousins to go to Raw and capture the Raw Tag Titles from RKBro. However, to everyone’s surprise, Shinsuke Nakamura showed up.
Shinsuke Nakamura has unfinished business with Roman Reigns
The reception of the WWE Universe was split when Shinsuke Nakamura came out to confront the Tribal Chief. Some fans were overjoyed, believing that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the outstanding Japanese star. Others desired a WWE Superstar with a bit more clout on his side.
Bill Apter, a seasoned pro wrestling journalist, reckons that Rick Boogs’ injury is the main reason why Nakamura has been propelled to the place. The ‘Artist’ has nothing much to do as The Usos’ have their focus on RK-Bro and the RAW Tag Team Championships. Nonetheless, he believes the battle versus Roman Reigns will be spectacular because both men are world-class performers.
Shinsuke Nakamura put on an iron-man effort as he made it to the final round of the No. 1 Contender’s Gauntlet Match almost a year ago. The match was intended to determine who would face WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in the then-upcoming Royal Rumble PPV. However, the Artist couldn’t secure the final pinfall as Reigns and Jey Uso interfered causing Adam Pearce to win the match. This looks like retribution time for Shinsuke Nakamura.
However, the most likely rationale for this schedule is that WrestleMania Backlash is not a major premium live show, and Roman Reigns is unlikely to lose his Undisputed Universal Championship. Even a non-title battle with pro wrestling’s most ‘over’ man is a significant step up for Nakamura.
