Alexa Bliss successfully cashed in her contract in 2018
Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match card has been announced for the upcoming 2021 PPV. Six women are scheduled to participate in the ladder match to earn the contract for challenging any WWE Championship.
A Money in the Bank briefcase hangs high above the ring and first wrestler to grab the case earns the contract. The winner can cash in the contract at any moment that they wish. Statistically, the Money in the Bank contract has been cashed in successfully 100% of the times.
So far there have been 5 Women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches. The inaugural match was won by Carmella, but that was with assistance from James Ellsworth. This led to a major controversy and a rematch was held – where Carmella managed to win again. She went on to defeat Charlotte Flair during a Smackdown episode to become the WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion.
The next ladder match was won by Alexa Bliss in 2018. She interrupted a match between the then Champion Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey. Bliss cashed in her contract successfully to become the new Raw Women’s Champion.
In 2019, Bayley won the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. She cashed in her contract successfully against Charlotte Flair to become the new Smackdown Women’s Champion. In 2020, Asuka won the ladder match but she did not need to cash in her contract as she had directly won the Raw Women’s Championship.
