Rivalries in WWE are an everyday thing. Every WWE superstar needs a rival or an opponent to go against. However, sometimes the on-screen feuds turn into major real-life rivalries.
When superstars exchange heated arguments on WWE TV, the audience needs to believe that the said superstars are actually rivals. Sometimes, many people are not even sure if the superstars actually want to rip each other’s throats out. With that said, here’s a list of the 10 WWE wrestlers who hate each other in real life.

CM Punk has faced a lot of top-tier superstars during his record-breaking title reign. One of the wrestlers who Punk specifically mentioned that he didn’t like working with was Ryback. Punk opened up on a podcast about his dislike for Ryback, stating that he took off a few years from Punk’s life.
Punk said, “I’m already beat up and I have to wrestle ‘Steroid Guy’ and he’s very … I call it like I see it.“He’s very hurty. Sometimes deliberate. There was one time he kicked me in the stomach as hard as he could and he broke my ribs, right at the tail end. And I never got an apology for that.” Ryback responded to Punk’s remarks by saying that he would do it to Punk again. According to Ryback, Punk’s comments were untrue and unprofessional.
9. Bret Hart and Goldberg

One of the most unexpected rivalries is between The Hitman of WWE and Goldberg. It all stemmed from their match at Starrcade 1999, when Goldberg accidentally kicked Bret Hart, giving him a concussion. Unfortunately, this added to Hart’s injuries, which eventually caused him to retire early.
Hart talked about his dislike for Goldberg, calling him ‘unprofessional’. Goldberg responded by saying that the kick was unintentional and that if he actually wanted to hurt him, he wouldn’t be in a condition to talk.
8. CM Punk and Triple H

Punk openly showed his dislike for the backstage politics of WWE, in one of the most infamous storylines where he dissed Vince McMahon and his dirty politics backstage. It looks like he doesn’t value Triple H in very high regard as well.
After he left WWE, CM Punk revealed on a podcast that he was unhappy after suffering loss after loss at the hands of The Game. He further said that when Vince proposed the idea of Punk wrestling Triple H at WrestleMania 30, The Best in the World felt that he didn’t need to face Triple H, but The Game needed to face him instead. Triple H, on the other hand, expressed that there were no feelings of animosity between him and CM Punk. But it’s clear that he wasn’t very fond of Punk and his arrogance either.
7. Ric Flair and Bret Hart

Although the two icons of WWE are on good terms now, they once used to have a strong dislike for each other. They shared the ring on several occasions and delivered some really great matches. Flair once called The Hitman “overrated”. Hart didn’t have many kind words for The Nature Boy either.
6. Triple H and Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho and Triple H are two of the most integral figures of WWE. Even after moving on to AEW, Jericho is widely regarded as one of the best wrestlers of WWE. However, it seems like Triple H and Y2J didn’t like each other back in the day.
The two shared the ring many times, with Jericho and Triple H feuding with Stephanie McMahon at some point. However, Y2J and The Game weren’t fond of each other back then. As of now, both superstars have affirmed that there isn’t any bad blood between them.
5. Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon

Despite being the biggest draw of WWF(now WWE), Hulk Hogan was disliked by Vince McMahon, especially after The Hulkster left WWE to join its rival promotion. They later put their differences aside when Hogan returned to WWE in 2002. However, due to his racist comments, Hulk Hogan was fired from the company. Their relationship is better now, with The Hulkster making sporadic appearances in WWE throughout the years.
4. Kofi Kingston and Randy Orton

In 2009, Kofi Kingston was a rising star and apparently was set to get a big push from the company. All that went away when The Viper reportedly used his backstage influence to squash those plans.
Since then, the two have never seen eye to eye. In one of their matches, Kofi botches a move and Randy Orton called him “an idiot” for that reason. Although they are on better terms now, things got very heated between the two WWE superstars.
3. Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair are remembered as the pioneers of the women’s division during the Women’s Evolution Era. Despite facing each other several times in NXT, their rivalry actually got quite heated in their series of matches in 2016 on the main roster.
It was an epic rivalry that laid the groundwork for the future of the Women’s Division. However, their rivalry got real soon off-screen as well. Charlotte Flair once mentioned that despite being good friends for some time, Banks was actually jealous of her, due to The Queen receiving a lot of championship opportunities in NXT.
2. Edge and Matt Hardy

The infamous love triangle storyline between Matt Hardy, Edge, and Lita was actually a real-life scenario. Matt Hardy was in a relationship with Lita for 6 years, before the latter cheated on him with Edge.
This was made into a real storyline in WWE as well. It’s safe to say that Hardy didn’t quite like Edge in real life either. As of now, both Hardy and Edge are happily married to their respective spouses, so the water might be under the bridge between the two.
1. The Rock and John Cena

This was one of the most famous rivalries of the past decade. A match between The Great One and The Cenation Leader was a dream come true for many. What’s even more interesting is the fact that the two actually hated each other in real life as well.
In one of the many segments between John Cena and The Rock, the former infamously made fun of The People’s Champ. Their argument got quite heated, with The Rock legitimately getting angry at Cena and threatening to “rip his throat out”. Since their legendary matches, Cena and The Rock have made peace, with the duo often joking about each other in interviews.
