Due to low ticket sales, WWE reportedly opted to move the Money in the Bank event to a new location. The premium live event was initially slated for Saturday, July 2nd at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The MGM Grand Garden Arena will now host the event.
The Allegiant Stadium has a 65,000-seat capacity, as compared to the 17,000-seat capacity at MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Dana White, the president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, has spoken out about WWE’s decision to shift Money in the Bank to a new location during International Fight Week. The T-Mobile Arena will host UFC 276 on the same night.

WWE tickets are “a lot cheaper”, thinks Dana White

Dana White appeared on The Spinnin Backfist MMA Show, where he expressed his thoughts about WWE’s move.
He said, “To be fair to the WWE, they were probably looking at it and their ticket prices were a lot cheaper and there would be a lot of people in town. International Fight Week is a rough week to do it.”
A few weeks ago, AEW President Tony Khan took to Twitter to reveal that it was he who informed the UFC President about WWE’s venue change decision. He also slammed WWE for organizing the premium live event during International Fight Week at Allegiant Stadium.
The Las Vegas venue recently hosted AEW’s Double or Nothing premium live event, where CM Punk was crowned the new AEW World Champion in the show’s main event.
When bomb threats forced the WWE to move its event location
Back in 1991, WWE moved its WrestleMania from the 78,467-seat Los Angeles Sports Coliseum to the 10,000-seat LA Memorial Coliseum. At the time, WWE mentioned “bomb threats” as the reason behind their decision amid rising tensions of the then ongoing Gulf War. However, numerous news outlets claimed that slow ticket sales were the real reason.
