Félix ‘xQc’ Lengyel started his career as a professional Overwatch player but he is mostly known for his long and hilarious twitch streams. Recently, xQc breaks his Twitch viewership record while streaming r/place.

xQc on the r/place subreddit

r/place was introduced by Reddit on the 1st April of 2017 and it is getting love again from April 1, 2022. r/place is a collaborative project and social experiment hosted on the social networking site Reddit. The experiment involves an online canvas located on a subreddit called r/place, which registered users could edit by changing the color of a single-pixel from a 16-color palette. After each pixel was placed, a timer prevented the user from placing any pixels for a period of time varying from 5 to 20 minutes. Recently, XQC, the biggest streamer on twitch discovered r/place and started making havoc as expected.

xQc has been getting love from the twitch community for a couple of years now. Previously his peak viewership was 220,720, in April 2020, when Valorant beta key drops were driving viewership higher for lots of streamers.

In the last few days, xQc breaks his own record not once but twice. As the internet is going crazy over the whole r/place subreddit and xQc was making his own logo on the wall, he grabbed a huge number of eyes. First, he reached 233,000 viewers on his r/place stream. Then, on Monday, April 4, on the final day of r/Place, he set another personal best at just over 290,000 concurrent viewers.

Many people are hating on xQc and accusing him of destroying others’ artworks but he says he doesn’t care and he shouldn’t as these streams are getting him thousands of new viewers.
