New York Yankees are expecting the return of their first baseman Anthony Rizzo for the final playoff push. The veteran got listed in IL after fracturing his right arm in mid-June. He’s yet to return to the roster and has been focusing on rehab with Double-A Somerset.
Considering the last few performances by DJ LeMahieu and Ben Rice, the team needs a boost up in offensive strength especially since it’s only going to get rougher as the playoff date comes close. Throughout the season so far, the team’s performance failed to keep consistency, especially during their slump time from mid-June to July.

The Yankees’ hitting coach James Rowson said that he’s looking forward to the return of Anthony Rizzo, but no official timeline has been set yet. Many are wondering if they’ll see the baseman during the team’s faceoff against the Cardinals this weekend.
It adds to what we have, and we’re looking for depth right now. So the more depth the better.James Rowson as per Dan Martin of NY Post.
Rowson believes the team is currently focusing and depending more on the power duo – Aaron Judge and Juan Soto to boost their performance. Among the many star players in the Bronx, two more whose play has sparked the team to victory are – Giancarlo Stanton and Jazz Chisholm Jr.

Both of the players have visited the injured list this season, but their return has been welcomed by the Yanks wholeheartedly. The team needs both offensive and defensive power to the max to rise for the playoff chances.
Anthony Rizzo and Aaron Judge seen with their wives at US Open
Seems like the NY Yankees captain Aaron Judge needed some time to cool off from his monstrous 2024 season. He along with his wife Samantha Bracksieck, Anthony Rizzo, and his wife Emily Vakos were seen attending the US Open night on their day off.

They were captured sipping on the tennis tournament special cocktail, honey deuces, and the Grey Goose-based beverage with three melon balls from the stands. The fans are excited to see Rizzo and the captain together, all hoping for the baseman to return to the lineup soon.

Since the freak injury in June, Rizzo has been on IL and rehab. The coach James Rowson is expecting “a healthy Anthony Rizzo” to “come back, the sooner, the better.” He believes Rizzo’s joining the roster will give the team the necessary offensive push they need before the playoffs.
