Yaya Toure offers help to Barcelona in time of struggle

Former Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure has volunteered to aid the Blaugrana after their dismal performances in the 2021/22 season. Toure has indicated that if he is approached, he will be happy to assist Barcelona at any moment.

Barcelona has dropped to ninth place in La Liga after a 0-2 loss to Atletico Madrid and are in immediate desperation of a recovery. They are broke, owing almost £1 billion in debt, and due to their financial difficulties, they failed to retain Lionel Messi and were obliged to loan Antoine Griezmann to Atletico Madrid.

They’re struggling in LaLiga and have lost both of their initial Champions League group stage matches. This season, they’ve been erratic, winning only once in their previous six games across all competitions, losing three times, and tying twice.

In a Twitter thread, Toure has volunteered to assist his former club whenever they need. “It may be a difficult time for the club but my belief for FC Barcelona is strong. I will always be available for the club should they need me anytime as my heart is forever with the club, the people, and the fans!” said Yaya Toure.

Yaya Toure was part of the great Barcelona side from 2007 to 2010 and appeared in 74 games for the Catalan giants. Before joining Manchester City in 2010, the midfielder spent three years with Barcelona, capturing two LaLiga crowns and also the 2009 Champions League.

“My time at FCBarcelona was one of the best memories of my playing career. The club has decided to trust me when I was still a young player, yet to establish myself in the top leagues. I will forever be grateful to the club for what they have done for me,” added Toure.

Toure called it quits in 2020 ending his footballing career in China and is now an assistant coach with Akhmat Grozny in the Russian Premier League. With Ronald Koeman under immense pressure, Barcelona could utilize the services of the former midfielder with a hope to turn around their fates.
