Young Indian Bowler dies on spot after being hit by ball in Ghaziabad

Mishaps tend to happen a lot in sporting grounds, but when grave incidents like deaths happen, it does send a chill down one’s spine. A young Indian Bowler passed away on the cricketing ground on the spot after a ferocious shot struck him on the head during a regional match in India. It was in Raj Nagar Extension in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh on the 8th of April as a spectator filmed a footage that showcased the tragedy unfolding on the pitch.
As seen in the footage the fast bowler ran in for the delivery, the batsman connected the ball well enough, hitting it straight back towards the bowler. The shot turned out to be too fast and fierce to lead to an evasive action from the bowler.
Instead, he copped a blow on the head and he fell straight to the ground. The players rushed to his aid; unfortunately, he died on the spot.
Safety measures are now made strict after the death of Australian Cricketer Phillip Hughes
Due to these reasons the safety measures are made strict as for close-fielders and wicket keepers standing close to the stumps have been advised to wear protective gear for every crucial body part. Players and coaching staff are advised to wear helmets too when practising in the nets against pacers or bowling machines. And defibrillators should also be made available at all first-class fixtures in case medical staff need to deal with cardiac incidents.
This was not the first on-field casualty as Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes died in 2014. Hughes, aged 25 at that time, copped a bouncer on the head from Sean Abbott while batting in a Sheffield Shield match for South Australia. While Hughes got admitted to the hospital immediately, he later died in the hospital due to extensive injuries.
