After the way Josh Allen ended a season where he had arguably the easiest path to win his and the Buffalo Bills’ first-ever Super Bowl, his fans have been distraught.
The soon-to-be father was emotional while walking off the field and continued to shed tears as he pinned the blame for their Divisional Round loss on himself.
Admittedly, his team was lacking the firepower to have any say against the league-leading defense that the Denver Broncos implement. But even then, Allen felt it was his fault and took accountability.
To all the young quarterbacks that are watching this segment with Josh Allen… That clip showed leadership… He put it on himself and said that he let the team down. That’s what a team appreciates. That’s leadership, that’s why this city and this team loves this kid.
Steve Mariucci said on NFL Gameday
The former Detroit Lions head coach singled out young quarterbacks, both in the NFL as well as college, who are earning millions through contracts, endorsements, and NIL deals.

He felt easy money has made QBs stop being humble, and that is not what professional teams want in their most important player. Steve Mariucci hopes those prospects learn from Josh Allen, who could have detailed the problems or lack of personnel his team had.
Instead, by accepting all the blame himself, the 29-year-old proved that he is the man to lead the Buffalo Bills, and his organization better put a good roster around him.
Ryan Clark surprisingly defends Josh Allen after tough loss
After the Buffalo Bills lost to the Denver Broncos, the claws were ready to come out for Josh Allen. Critics were ready to say that had he not committed his four turnovers, his team could have continued on its path to the Super Bowl.

The likes of Ryan Clark have been specific when piling the pressure on the Bills’ signal caller on what was at stake this season. But after watching Allen’s post-game presser, the ESPN analyst wrote this:
I LOVE Josh Allen at the podium. When your best player cares that much, it matters. He knows he was below the line, and it’s not on his teammates. That’s accountability. They put him in spots to win, and he wasn’t his best self! Much respect! The refs helped Denver a bit, too!

The refs helped Denver a bit too!
It seems the former safety did not want to add fuel to the fire and instead chose to give praise where it was due. He appreciated Josh Allen for accepting responsibility when it was evident that his mistakes, along with a questionable late-game call, cost his team the game.
Ex-NFL stars were not so kind to Josh Allen and Bills
Even though Josh Allen has received a lot of support after pouring out his emotions during the post-game press conference, not everyone was ready to let him escape criticism.
What was he doing carrying the ball like that… He was the best QB remaining in the AFC… And he gagged.
Shannon Sharpe said on Nightcap
This was Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe, who was in Denver, Colorado, along with some other former Broncos greats, to watch their former team win against the Buffalo Bills.
Holy Sh*t: Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco go OFF on Josh Allen for blowing his best shot at finally reaching and winning a Super Bowl without Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, or Joe Burrow stopping him.

He believes that this was Allen and his team’s best chance to win the Super Bowl, and lost as the QB was not doing things he has been strong at, a point his Nightcap co-host Chad Johnson agreed to.
Sharpe also took shots at the Bills’ head coach, Sean McDermott, for wavering from what made them good. He felt it was time that the Pegula family had a discussion about the man leading their team, as that leadership has become questionable.
