“You’re No.12. I’m No.13. Let’s do it,” says Belal Muhammad as he calls out Li Jingliang after beating Dhiego Lima
Belal Muhammad had a terrific fight at the UFC 258 as he outboxed the Brazilian Dhiego Lima. Muhammad beat Lima in the third round by a decision at the welterweight preliminary-card bout held at UFC Apex, Las Vegas.
Though Belal stole the show, Lima did find some success with his low leg kicks. Muhammad was hurting and received some ice treatment in the end. Critics applaud Belal for his integrity as he outboxed his opponent.
After the fight, Belal got a post-match interview with Joe Rogan, who almost robbed the winner of call out. But later Belal took the opportunity to call out his fellow welterweight fighter from China, Li Jingliang. “Hey, Li Jingliang, you’re right above me, man,” said Muhammad at the broadcast. “You’re taking everything I work for. You’re No. 12. I’m No. 13. Let’s do it.”
Muhammad gets props from iconic singer, Zayn Malik
Belal Muhammad after walking down Lima and battering him with punches got a worthy prop from a singer. One direction’s Zayn Malik tweeted out appreciating Belal after the fight. The singer said, “Muhammad is a beast!! Relentless pressure what a scary dude”
With this victory, Muhammad is now on a four-match winning streak. The consecutive win stretch includes wins against, Lyman Good, Takashi Sato, and Curtis Millender. The fighter from Chicago has lost only one fight since 2017.
Muhammad’s callout, Li Jingliang is coming off a knockout win against Santiago Ponzinibbio at the UFC on ABC: Holloway vs. Kattar fight. Li has a record of 18-6-0 standing at the #12 rank.
