Zelina Vega asks for bigger opportunities in WWE (via WWE)
The new regime of WWE, spearheaded by Triple H, has done a great job in elevating talent that previously went unnoticed. Chad Gable is a shining example of this statement. However, some superstars on the main roster continue to struggle. Zelina Vega recently took to X to express her frustration about not being given bigger opportunities.
Vega claimed that her height has held her back her entire life. She claimed that this incident occurred again on the day she made the tweet. She is likely referring to her match against Sonya Deville on the latest episode of Raw. The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion beat the Latino superstar in just over a minute.

Zelina Vega asserted that she had much more to prove. Her statement of being able to touch the ball but never hold it likely refers to a world title. Although she has competed for the prize in her career, she has never been crowned on the main roster or even in NXT. All she wanted was a chance. If it did not work out, she agreed to fall back in line.
WWE recently put Vega into the world title scene after more than a year. The last time she competed for a major title in WWE was in her home country of Puerto Rica at Backlash 2023. Her recent feud with Liv Morgan was finally a chance for her to make an appearance at a PLE in a major singles match. However, WWE eventually moved the match to the Money in the Bank go-home show.
WWE gave Vega a chance in 2021 by crowning her the inaugural Queen of the Ring. However, the run went nowhere, and they pushed her back down to the mid-card. She is not the only female superstar on the roster who has asked for more chances. Dakota Kai recently went on stream and asked for more chances herself. Unfortunately, she seems to be floundering on the red brand as well.
Sonya Deville beats Zelina Vega on the latest episode of Raw in a minute
Sonya Deville made her return to WWE last week on Raw after suffering from a torn ACL. She immediately aligned herself with Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler, who seemed to have formed a new faction on Raw. This week marked her first in-ring match since her injury, where she took on Zelina Vega.
Vega had set up her opponent for a 619. However, Shayna Baszler tripped her up and kicked her elbow. This allowed Deville to take advantage. She hit her with an inverted DDT, which she calls the Deville’s advocate. After picking up the victory in just over a minute, they started to beat down the 33-year-old before Kayden Carter and Katana Chance saved her. The LWO member was later seen in tremendous pain backstage.
