Tuivasa suffered his first-ever professional loss against Junior dos Santos at UFC Fight Night 142 via TKO. He again lost two more fights against Blagoy Ivanov and Sergey Spivak. It was the fight with Stefan Struve at UFC 254 in which the heavyweight decided to come back to his winning days as he defeated Struve via KO in the first round.

Since then, Tuivasa went on to amass a win streak that was snapped by Ciryl Gane in 2022. He tried to bounce back against Sergei Pavlovich but failed in December 2022. He faced another defeat at the hands of Alexander Volkov at UFC 293.

Tuivasa was born on March 16, 1993, in Sydney, Australia. His parents, Tony Tuivasa and Kerry Johnson, were from an upper-middle-class family. While growing up, Tuivasa was a rugby player and was good at it. If it wasn’t for gambling addiction, the fighter would have become a national rugby player as the professional Sydney Roosters rugby league signed him.
