5 NFL Stars Who Can Match Expectations In Week 6 After Poor Start

As the sixth week of NFL is almost knocking on the door, there are some intriguing match-ups that is about to rock and roll the football roster with Philadelphia Eagles squaring off with Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Los Angeles Chargers crossing swords with Baltimore Ravens, New York Giants clash with Los Angeles Rams and finally a blockbuster collision between Broncos and Raiders. This week will also feature a few brilliant individual clash-ups like the one with which the week will start that will pit Brady and Hurts.

Keeping aside the glitz and the glam, if we strip down the forthcoming week to its bare essentials, we would be confronted with a few names who have struggled vehemently to hit the right chord in the preceding weeks and will be desperate to make things right as another game week of thrill and fierce rivalry approaches. In this story, we will take a look at five players who failed to wring out a decent showdown in the previous weeks but can be the men to watch out for in gameweek 6.

Devontae Booker – New York Giants

A freak injury to Saquon Barkley has paved the way for Booker to be an instrumental choice for the forthcoming weeks. Barkley went strong in the first four weeks but with his ankle hammered in the game against the Cowboys which led to distension at a freakish level, Booker made way for the starting running back. He wasn’t particularly impressive but belted out a few sparks of brilliance that read 19 touches, 58 total yards and two touchdowns. With Rams up ahead, it will be a monumental challenge for Booker but as the famous maxim goes that champions aren’t really forged in a bed of roses.

Another late entry into the ongoing season of the NFL will be Darrell Williams who will be getting in the place of starter Clyde-Edwards Helaire after the latter got his MCL injured. Williams has had very limited touches and hasn’t been an impressive name to follow. However, the last season bore witness to the rise of Williams in absence of Helaire where the running back managed to rack up 130 rushing yards with 26 carries, 25 receiving yards with five catches and an electrifying touchdown in the playoff clashes of the Chiefs. He will have a couple of easy match-ups coming his way that will include the likes of Washington and Tennessee.

Rhamondre Stevenson – New England Patriots

After Damien Harris bounced off the ground, going face first, grassing another long throw aimed at him, Rhamondre Stevenson was summoned to replace him. Despite producing a couple of sparks that could have caught fire, he stayed confined to the lines of mediocrity. He managed to rack up 23 yards with nine carries but he successfully broke several tackles on a touchdown run which were called back. With Dallas Cowboys up next and Damien Harris still grappling with injuries, this will be the best chance for Stevenson to prove himself and it is very rare that the Patriots RB has passed up opportunities.

Marquez Callaway – New Orleans Saints

Despite being abysmal in the first four weeks, Marquez Callaway showcased class against Washington in bits and pieces. He managed to catch four of eight targets for 85 yards and also racked up two touchdowns. He hasn’t been completely successful as he has been blowing hot and cold throughout. However, with the Saints having a bye next week, this will allow Michael Thomas and Tre’Quan Smith to recover which will prune the workload of Callaway but it is expected that he will shortly be able to get hold of his preceding formidable footing that he is known for.

Rondale Moore – Arizona Cardinals

On a very surprising note, the Cardinals wide receiver was rendered absolutely null and void in week 3 and 4 but he did manage to come back in week 5, even though that was nowhere to his fullest potential. Against San Francisco, he managed eight total touches for 97 yards and came menacingly close to scoring only to be left with a sour taste of near misses in his mouth. The kind of player that Moore is, it is expected that he will soon turn things around even though his next clash will be against the formidable Cleveland Browns.
