Stewart Hass Racing veteran Kevin Harvick will retire at the end of the 2023 season. His retirement opens up several opportunities to the rest of the grid. No:4 Ford Mustang team will open for a new driver, and the chance to drive a car worthy of a championship win is big. Harvick’s long-term primary sponsor is also looking for a new face to represent them on track.

Sports Business Journal’s Adam Stern reported that Anheuser-Busch, the brewery sponsoring Harvick, is in talks with a potential sponsorship deal. The team wants to sign Trackhouse Racing No:1 Chevy driver Ross Chastain as their Harvick replacement. Discussions are ongoing, and neither party has confirmed reaching a potential deal.

Kyle Busch, who came across the Tweet, replied with his intention to be the next face of the brand in a joking manner. He replied, “I feel like this already has my name written all over it”. He was implying that he and the brand share the name, Busch.

Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch are two of the most successful Cup Series drivers of the 21st century. Both have won NASCAR championships as drivers and owners and are the active driver with the most Cup race wins. The veteran has a legacy matched by a few and is a definite NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee. Harvick, who will retire at the end of the 2023 season, has to wait a handful of years for his induction. At the same time, Busch has a lot left to give on the track.

For Busch and Harvick, 2023 is special. Busch left Joe Gibbs Racing after 15 years of service to join Richard Childress Racing. The retirement year is always special for Harvick. Both are title contenders this season with a solid car-determined team. They were eliminated last season in the Round of 16 as they were in an unfortunate situation during the first playoff round.

The Two times cup series champion started the season with full-on confidence. He already scored his maiden RCR wins, in only the second race of the sedans at Fontana. Busch has been a contender for a win in the season’s opener Daytona 500, and the LA Clash. He has the full support of the No:8 crew and is cashing yet another multi-win season after the disappointing 2022 run.

The No:4 SHR crew is more determined to get Harvick the title than No:8 as they want to give the NASCAR legend a proper send-off. Busch finished P12 in Daytona and scored P5 in Fontana, his hometown track. Going into Las Vegas, Busch’s home track,  for the third race of the season, he hopes to score his third career Cup win at the oval.
