New York Jets‘ star young wideout, Garrett Wilson, is one of the best young receivers in the league. Last year’s Offensive Rookie of the Year will now be one of the main targets for the newly acquired quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Although he was not playing in Jets’ preseason matchup against the Carolina Panthers, Wilson was on the sidelines to support his team.

In a sideline interview, Wilson was seen wearing a bucket hat and sunglasses. This may seem like a normal thing, but it’s being speculated that Wilson wore this specific outfit to troll Denver Broncos’ head coach Sean Payton.

Payton was hired by the Broncos this season to replace Nathaniel Hackett, who is now the offensive coordinator of the Jets. In a recent press conference, Payton said he had some rules for his players during their preseason games. These rules included no interviews while the game was on, no “Gilligan” (bucket) hats, being in uniform, and no sunglasses.

This comes after a very public feud between Payton and Hackett, where Payton publicly criticized Hackett and his coaching staff for a poor 2022 season. Aaron Rodgers defended his offensive coordinator and asked Payton to “keep my coach’s name out of his mouth.” Since then the feud has died down a bit, but Wilson was seen doing all the things Payton doesn’t want his team to do.

The Broncos play the Jets in week 5 on October 8 in Denver in what could be a very fiery matchup.

The Denver Broncos lost to the Arizona Cardinals 18-17 during their first preseason matchup on Saturday. Initially, the Broncos’ offense struggled to get points on board and even missed a couple of field goals.

Broncos’ head coach Sean Payton sent Russell Wilson and the first team offense out for the fourth series. His reason was that he “wanted to score.” After a rocky start, Wilson and the Broncos started to find their rhythm and played a much better second quarter. They eventually lost the game as the Cardinals scored 15 points in the fourth quarter.

The Broncos had a poor 2022 season. Payton was hired at the start of this offseason to help this team reach the playoffs and get the best out of their future Hall of Fame quarterback, Russell Willson.

Broncos start their season on September 10 against the Las Vegas Raiders. They will need to sort out a lot of things before that in their remaining preseason games.
