Sergio Perez claims he has moved on from Helmut Marko’s XENOPHOBIC comments after personal apology
Sergio Perez has cleared the air about his relationship with Red Bull Chief Helmut Marko after the latter's incendiary comments on Checo's ethnicity.

Formula 1 has always been an elitist sport reserved for the European aristocrats, but now the times are changing. Still, some of the personnel attached to it reserve their thoughts that date back to the idea that F1 has only been for the Whites ever since its commencement in the 1850s. And thus, they end up making offensive comments regarding the racers who take part in the races these days. One such incident happened when Nelson Piquet called Lewis Hamilton a ‘neguinho’ and now, something similar has happened with Helmut Marko.
Red Bull Chief Advisor Helmut Marko never shies away from making controversial statements when it comes to F1. But this time, his comments came under fire recently as most of the F1 community found it offensive. It all started with Sergio Perez’s huge difference in speed to teammate Max Verstappen despite the two driving the same Red Bull RB-19 racecar. Commenting on it, Marko gave an inane reason as to why Checo could not make the improvement that Max or Sebastian has shown at Red Bull.
Marko said Sergio Perez‘s South American roots have kept him from advancing to the level of Max Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel. The entire Formula One world was enraged at this, and the octagenarian came out with a statement in response to the backlash. Now, Perez has clarified that all is well between him and Marko as he said, “I had a very good conversation with him. He did apologise. That to me was the main thing. We move on.”
Sergio Perez’s form has evidently improved since he got P2 at Monza GP

During the Dutch GP, Max Verstappen was the centre of all attention as he built a 1 second gap to his teammate Checo, despite driving the same car. This led to fans speculating that Red Bull might have supplied ‘limited’ version of Max’s RB-19 to Perez. But then Sergio Perez put in a lot of efforts and managed to scale up the grid at the Italian Grand Prix a couple of weeks ago. The Mexican finished with an impressive second-place in the podium, showing the fans that he has still gotten the pace in him.
On the other hand, Max Verstappen has claimed he wants to have less number of races in the coming years in a single season. He said it becomes too hectic when the F1 circus has to move to 24 locations over a period of about nine months, and this might drive him to retire earlier in his career. But F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali wanted to have none of it as he stayed fixed to his decision and claimed they should not leave the decision-making to the F1 racers.
