The Formula 1 world is currently excitedly anticipating the release of the 2024 racecars from the different teams ahead of another season filled with challenges. As is customary in F1, all the participating teams will unveil their challengers alongwith their general liveries at a specified date about a month before the first race of the season kicks off. McLaren have decided to go against the conventional fashion by releasing their livery prematurely, but they will not be letting the fans take a peek at their all-new MCL38 until February 14. Meanwhile, Ferrari have announced their car launch date as February 13.

The Scuderia have been disappointing their fans for a couple of years now. They have not seen a Drivers’ Championship winner rise from their team since Kimi Raikkonen in 2007. And the last time Ferrari received a World Constructor’s Championship was in 2008. Thus, it is high time they buckle up at their Maranello headquarters to produce a car that is worthy of winning Championships by bringing the fight to their heavyweight rivals like Mercedes and Red Bull.

But as the fans are eagerly waiting for some news on the work going on in Maranello ahead of Ferrari’s car launch for their 2024 campaign, they got a sudden surprise in the form of an X post. It showed a clip of a man driving his red ‘Ferrari’ down the road but upon closer inspection, it can be seen that the car is actually a life-sized toy. The video has now gone viral on social media with fans unfortunately claiming that the toy car has a speed that is equivalent to that of the actual Ferrari racecar.

Fans claim the toy Ferrari that was spotted on the streets is ‘better than the SF-23’

In 2023, Ferrari underwent some major changes since they failed to secure a World Championship for Charles Leclerc despite a promising start to their 2022 campaign. Ferrari’s Team Boss Mattia Binotto stepped down from his role and they produced the SF-23 car after discontinuing their F1-75 series. But still, they could not bring promising results as the car seemed slow and unreliable. Even though it did help Carlos Sainz get a resounding victory in Singapore when even the Red Bulls were struggling, the fans have aired their distaste for Ferrari’s ’23 challenger.

And thus, when the Twitterati found the clip of a man driving a toy Ferrari down the streets, here are the comments that they made–

In other news, Ferrari are reportedly making some massive changes to their car for the 2024 season and they are already reducing its overall weight considerably. With all these attempts, the Maranello outfit members are now hopeful that the team will get some promising results in the next year but it still remains to be seen if they can actually fight against the dominant forces of Red Bull to aim for the Championship.
