The San Francisco 49ers‘ Tight End George Kittle is not surprised at the Detroit Lions making it to the NFC Championship Game. In the latest episode of the Pat McAfee Show, the TE said that he was aware of what the team under Dan Campbell could do and hence he did not find any astonishing factor with the Lions edging past.

George Kittle said:

I'm not surprised at all [they are in the NFC Championship game]," said Kittle. Everything that Dan Campbell preaches is what the team is, it's not fake, they're gritty, they're going to out-work you, out-effort you. I was looking earlier at their offense, Frank [Ragnow] their centre is a phenomenal player, [Sam] LaPorta is fantastic, [Amon Ra] St. Brown is fantastic and [Jared] Goff is playing at a high level and their running backs are pretty damn good as well.

He went on to add:

They are hot, they are on a roll right now, and when you have momentum and you are playing for the city of Detroit, that's a huge wave of momentum they are bringing with them to California.
George Kittle added

This season, the Lions have created history. They registered a win in the playoff almost after three decades. The entire crowd went crazy to see them winning over the Rams. In addition, they also registered a place in the NFC Championship game. With these two, they created a hue and cry among the fans and the analysts. Their performance in the Divisional playoff round compelled the fans to come down to Downtown Detroit Street and celebrated the victory.

George Kittle’s 49ers have also done a pretty good job throughout the league. They reached the NFC Championship for the consecutive second time. Last time, they had an unfortunate time as a few players including Brock Purdy left the field with injuries. This time they want to grab the championship.

The Lions are expected to give a tough challenge to George Kittle and the 49ers

The Detroit Lions are expected to give a tough challenge to the 49ers. They started the season by beating the Chiefs and also gave a tough fight against the Dallas Cowboys. It was a controversial decision at the AT&T Stadium that deprived them of a possible win.

The team has a great offense. As Kittle mentioned, Goff is in great form and he is well-supported by his teammates. The QB had clean games in the playoffs and against the Buccaneers, he alone stole the show with his touchdowns and perfect passing. This season, the team had a rebirth and that could be challenging for the 49ers.

The 49ers would start as the favorites against the Lions in the NFC Championship game. It is to be seen whether they can replicate it on the field.
