Valtteri Bottas

Valtteri Bottas secured the first pole position of the 2021 season, as he finished on the first spot in the qualifying session on Saturday. The Finnish driver recorded a time of 1:18:348 in the Q3, and finished above his teammate, Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton secured the second spot in the grid, as the likes of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez finished third and fourth respectively.

Carlos Sainz put in a decent performance, finishing on the fifth spot. His Ferrari teammate, Charles Leclerc finished on the ninth spot. Lando Norris continued his fine form this season, as he finished P7 in qualifying. The Briton secured only the second podium finish of his career at the Imola GP, a few weeks ago.

Valtteri Bottas, Sebastian Vettel and George Russell impress

Sebastian Vettel made his first Q3 session since the British GP. The German has endured a tough start to the season, but finished P10 in qualifying on Saturday. He out-qualified his teammate, Lance Stroll who finished on the 17th spot.

Daniel Ricciardo failed to carry forward his momentum, as he finished on the 16th spot. George Russell put in a strong performance as the Williams driver took the 11th spot, marginally missing out on a place in the Q3 session. Nikita Mazepin’s torrid start to the season continued, as he finished last in the qualifying session, and will start from the bottom row.
