Russell Westbrook has had his fair share of highlight-reel plays throughout his illustrious career. He also has some plays that are not worth remembering. One such play happened to develop from the Los Angeles Clippers superstar’s hands in the recent game against the Denver Nuggets. A terrible shot attempt has left basketball fans in splits.
With the Denver Nuggets having a commanding lead in the 1st quarter, Russell Westbrook had the ball in his hands with 4 minutes left. He slowly dribbled his way into the paint and launched for a fadeaway shot. Only for the ball to go up so high as to land on top of the backboard and come back down. This resulted in an out-of-bounds play and the possession was handed to the Nuggets.
The terrible shot attempt allowed the Nuggets to continue their domination of the 1st quarter. However, the former league MVP came good later on as he helped the Los Angeles Clippers rally from behind in the 2nd quarter and bring the game level.
The Nuggets tried to close in on the lead the Clippers had. But their chances of a win were thwarted by the brilliant defensive play of PJ Tucker on Nikola Jokic‘s game-winning attempt. Russell Westbrook provided the much-needed spark from the bench despite having this terrible play.
