Lando Norris was the prime competitor to Max Verstappen for the drivers’ title in the 2024 season. However, Norris committed multiple blunders throughout the season, costing him the victory. Looking back on his performance, the Briton gave a stern response to the critics.

Lando Norris is known for being too critical of his own performances in Formula 1. The 25-year-old also made controversial remarks during the 2024 season, drawing further backlash. Norris pointed out that he was harsh on himself and wanted the team to criticize him. However, the Briton hated the people who tried to make him feel good in the wrong manner.

I know I can be criticized. I myself am very self-critical and I want my team to criticize me. The thing I probably hate the most in the world are people who try to make me feel good and do it the wrong way.

Lando Norris said, as reported by formulapassion.it..

Norris pinpointed that he hated the people who gave him fake compliments rather than genuine criticism. The Briton insisted that external criticism did not affect him much, as he is already his own harshest critic. The 25-year-old noted that he was aware of his capabilities and knew if he did a good job or a bad one.

I prefer criticism to fake compliments, let’s say so. Then I don’t care too much about what people say, because I’m the first to criticize myself. I’m being honest: I know if I did a great job or if I did the wrong things.
