Brock Lesnar has been absent from WWE since the SummerSlam PLE in 2023 due to pending legal clearance from the company. Recently, a fan met him and asked about his status in WWE. Wrestling fans were shocked when the fan claimed that The Beast Incarnate might be done with wrestling forever. Now the truth behind his alleged retirement rumor has been revealed.

The fan who originally claimed that Brock Lesnar had retired has now deleted the post. This raises the possibility that the news was false. Lesnar hasn’t confirmed his retirement, and his contract situation remains on hold. It all began when his name was mentioned in the ongoing lawsuit filed by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon and WWE.

Lesnar was immediately removed from all creative plans. His name wasn’t mentioned in promos or video packages, and WWE even erased his footage from the WWE 2K24 video game. This continued until Paul Heyman was allowed to mention him during his Hall of Fame speech. Although Lesnar hasn’t appeared on WWE programming for a long time, he has been regularly seen at non-wrestling events.

The Conqueror was recently seen supporting his daughter at a shot-put event, where she won the competition. Lesnar’s last match was against Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam nearly two years ago, where Cody defeated him, and they shared a moment of respect afterward. His current status with WWE remains uncertain. While fans may want to see him return to the ring, the ongoing lawsuit makes that seem unlikely.

Vince Russo felt that Brock Lesnar would’ve been a great opponent for Gunther at WrestleMania

The current World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther, is going to defend his world title against Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41. Uso won the Royal Rumble match earlier this year and challenged his arch nemesis for the title at the Showcase of the Immortals. However, fans have shown little to no interest, as they’ve already seen multiple matches between the two stars. Interestingly, former WWE writer Vince Russo echoed the same opinion.

While speaking on the Legion of Raw podcast, Russo said he believed Lesnar would have been a better opponent for The Ring General than Uso. However, the former head writer also felt that WWE no longer needed The Beast Incarnate, as the company was making plenty of money without him. Fans once witnessed a brief stare-down between the two superstars.

It is, 1000% but again, they are making money hand over fist. So what do they need Brock Lesnar for right now? They are making a cra*load of money right now. I agree with you on that booking-wise, I’m talking about dollars and cents.

Both superstars were part of the 2023 Royal Rumble match, where they had an intense faceoff. Although Bobby Lashley eliminated the former Universal Champion shortly after, the brief staredown thrilled the fans. Gunther has expressed his desire to face Lesnar in several interviews, even calling him the “final boss” in his journey. However, given the current situation, that dream match may never happen.

Samoa Joe reflects on his rivalry with Brock Lesnar and explained why he went a bit overboard

During his time as WWE Universal Champion, Lesnar faced many big and powerful opponents like Braun Stowman and Roman Reigns. However, none were as vicious as Samoa Joe. Both stars traded intense insults, keeping the crowd fully entertained. Looking back, the former NXT Champion recalled his rivalry with The Beast Incarnate and admitted he may have gone too far.

While speaking with Chris Van Vliet on The Insight, Joe reflected on his 2017 rivalry with Lesnar. The Samoan Submission Machine said Lesnar loved the chaotic energy of the feud. Although it was a fan-favorite rivalry, Joe admitted he may have gone a bit overboard with some of his promos against the former Universal Champion.

rock really liked the kind of the chaotic energy I brought, the things he loved that, you know, I would say whatever I wanted to say to him and to his face. And, you know, because he understood what I’m trying to do, you know, he understood. I went a little overboard there, but it’s a great moment. It was fine.

Joe said that Lesnar understood he was just trying to hype up the crowd. They had only one singles match at Great Balls of Fire in 2017, which Lesnar won. They later faced off again in the famous Fatal 4-Way match at SummerSlam next month, along with Reigns and Strowman. Interestingly, The Beast Incarnate won that match as well.
