Jalen Milroe has a blunt response to possibly being faster than Lamar Jackson
Kay Adams asked Jalen Milroe who’s faster—him or Ravens star Lamar Jackson—and the Alabama graduate confidently chose himself over the former NFL MVP.

There has been a major shift in how quarterbacks should play football. If an NFL team found a QB with a great arm, pocket presence, and the ability to make instant decisions, they would instantly snap him up in the draft. But now, QBs with all of those qualities and quick feet hog all the attention, like Jalen Milroe.
Fans, scouts, and quarterback coaches will be quick to argue that Milroe doesn’t have the best arm, like Cam Ward, or is less accurate compared to Shedeur Sanders. However, he’s more athletic than either of the two and makes use of the great thigh muscles at every given opportunity.
The Cleveland Browns general manager, Andrew Berry, even said, Milroe is faster than Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. The casuals may find Berry’s comparison far-fetched or even comical, but he witnessed the magic happen in person.
Jalen [Milroe] has got rare physical talent… When he gets in the NFL, he may be the only quarterback who’s faster than [Ravens’] Lamar [Jackson]. Don’t tell Lamar I said that, please.
Andrew Berry said
Berry knows better than most. Lamar has been torturing his Browns since 2018. Jackson has an 8-5 record against his AFC North rivals—a passer rating of 96.9 with 2,319 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions.
Berry’s onto something because he’s not the only one who believes in Jalen Milroe’s gifted ability.
Several coaches and scouts [have] told me [that] Jalen Milroe is the greatest runner of the football they’ve ever evaluated at the quarterback position [and] not Lamar Jackson [of the Baltimore Ravens].

Jalen Milroe reveals who is faster between him and Lamar Jackson
Every year, there’s that one football player whose draft skyrockets right before D-day. Last year, Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. became the talk of the draft after being picked in the top 10; Milroe could be the one following the same path.

At present, he’s a late first- or high-second-round guy, but anything can happen. A team can trade up to get him, or a team that’s not even on the radar can suddenly throw their name in the hat for Milroe, similar to how Jay Cutler became a Denver Bronco.
He will cross that road when it arrives. Before that, the 22-year-old shot caller attended a FaceTime call from Kay Adams. The host of Up & Adams asked Milroe whether he had heard about the ‘faster than Lamar Jackson’ take from the Browns GM or not. He nodded.
Adams saw an opportunity and notched up the difficulty level of the questions. She asked the Alabama graduate to close the chapter by saying who is faster. Whether it was him or if it’s the two-time NFL MVP.
I agree [I am faster].

He will need that confidence in the NFL. The Browns are a long shot but are still in the game for a rookie quarterback. Not only the Browns but also their rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, may take a chance with him even if they sign Aaron Rodgers.
Former NFL QB turned ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky is intrigued by the Steelers potentially drafting Jalen Milroe at 21.
As time has gone on, I’m more intrigued with the Steelers and Jalen Milroe. … I don’t think that there’s a team in the NFL that is in a worse situation when it comes to the quarterback position than the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bama fans always knew Milroe possessed the athleticism. The entire nation found out about it during the Crimson Tide’s Pro Day when the 6-foot-2, 217-pounder completed the 40-yard dash in 4.37 seconds.
Jackson never ran his 40 yards at the Combine back in 2018. However, the former Louisville man reached a top speed of 21.25 mph on a 48-yard TD in a Week 17 win over the Houston Texans in 2024, as per the Next Gen Stats.
