The NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega wasn’t the chaos many expected, as it was one of the cleanest races the track has ever seen and didn’t produce the big one as usual. But that didn’t stop the driver from going on their usual angry rants on their team radios and veteran Joey Logano was at the middle of it.

As the second stage of the race coming into the race, Joey Logano found himself in a battle for valuable playoff points with 23XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace. The No:22 car had the support of Austin Cindric, pushing him from behind, before the eventual race winner suddenly checked up on his teammate.

This move, killed the three times Cup champions’ Ford, and made him slow. The veteran then easily lost to the No:23 Toyota and it made his rant on team radio targeting his teammate. Logano didn’t mince his words and Fox sports had a little too much F-bombs to censor when they showed it on the broadcast.

Way to go Austin, way to go, you dumb f***!. Way to f***ing go. What a stupid s**t. You just gave it to him. Gave a Toyota a stage win. Nice job. Way to go. What a dumba**. Put that in the book again.

Joey Logano said on team radio.

The disappointment didn’t end for Logano there, as after finishing inside the top-6, he was disqualified for failing the post-race inspection. He wasn’t the only Ford to get DQed, as RFK Racing’s Ryan Preece, who finished P2 in the race also got disqualified.

Team Penske Racing releases a statement on the Joey Logano DQ

The DQ was really disappointing for Penske crew, despite their young driver being in the victory lane. They revealed that the reason for NASCAR taking action was a loose screw on the spoiler. The team is adamant that it was a unintentional mistake, accepting the DQ.

The No. 22 Team Penske Ford Mustang was disqualified following post-race inspection at Talladega today. One of the 18 bolts on the surface of the spoiler that connect to the base was found to be loose, and NASCAR penalized the team as a result. This was not intentional and happened throughout the course of the race event. Team Penske accepts the disqualification.

Team Penske said via a statement.

It seems the Ford giants won’t be appealing the decision, as the verdict seems to be really black and white. The Austin Cindric wins and the strong run from Logano might influence the team work extra hard to bounce back.
