The 2025 NASCAR Cup season so far has been a year of mixed performance so far for Ryan Blaney, and the outing at Texas motor speedway was no different. He witnessed his teammate Joey Logano winning the race, just like third Penske racer Austin Cindric did at Talladega the week before, as he finished P3, owing to his mistakes and the track.

Ryan Blaney was furious with how the Texas Cup race was more like how last Sunday’s Talladega event should have been. He exclaimed that the track is terrible as the track offered just two lanes. The massive bump on turn 3&4 were really discomforting for everyone in the garage, making the track in Blaney’s words “not racy.”

It’s terrible. It looks like there’s two lanes at a time, but you see guys bust their butts over in three and four all the time because there’s a massive bump. So, you don’t even wanna run up there. So, the track is not very racy.

Ryan Blaney said via Kyle Dalton.

So, is there a fix that could end the dram for good? Well not necessarily as even Blaney doesn’t know how the change it. The racing experts made a poor decision with the repaving of what was a solid track and now they should take the responsibility of it. But considering the recent history with NASCAR fixing track, there seems to just a dim light at the end of the tunnel.

I don’t know the fix. I don’t know why they decided to repave it in the first place. It was fine before that. So, I don’t know what to do. I’m not the guy to ask, but they are experts. They can make it better.

Ryan Blaney confesses a dumb mistake cost him a shot at win on Sunday

Just like his teammate Joey Logano, who won the race, Ryan Blaney also had a strong car on the day. But a mistake late in the race cost him the race. He admitted that not being able to overtake Michael McDowell due to his dumb mistakes cost him.

The one time I didn’t pick the outside (lane), the 71 [McDowell] got the lead and then I couldn’t get it back. Just (the) driver making dumb decisions and not doing his job … The 12 car was a fast car today. I just can’t do anything right currently. Hopefully it will work itself out.

The 2023 Cup champion needs to understand from his mistakes and work with his team to end his winless streak to get into the playoff alongside his teammates. It would be interesting to see how long it will take the veteran to secure these goals.
