(Video) Unseen Clip of Security Combating John Cena Heckler After His Disrespectful Gesture on Last Week’s SmackDown
A fan was soon taken under the custody of security personnel on last week's SmackDown after he hurled an empty beer bottle at John Cena.

John Cena wasn’t received too kindly by the Ohio crowd on SmackDown last Friday. In fact, a heckler threw an empty beer bottle at the Undisputed WWE Champion while he was being introduced by Mark Nash. A fan posted on TikTok the footage of the said heckler, where he could be seen eager to launch even more objects at Cena.
But as soon as he inadvertently dropped one, the disrespectful fan was immediately caught by the on-site security personnel. Such incidents have gotten extremely rare in modern-day wrestling. The Cenation Leader has been on the receiving end of a much more brutal hostility. Back in 2006 at ECW One Night Stand, the 17-time world champion took on RVD at Hammerstein Ballroom, which, at the time, was a pro-ECW territory.

The fans in attendance were chanting profanity at Cena and even threw toilet paper at the Peacemaker actor, expressing their disdain for him. It is regarded as the most anti-Cena crowd of all time. Even though The Franchise Player is generating loads of heat with his ongoing heel run, it’s often triggered by Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect himself with his berating remarks about the fans in whichever city he’s in.
But in most of the cases, the WWE Universe is still reluctant to bash their hero, especially in his farewell tour. After he successfully retained his title belt against Randy Orton at Backlash, the St. Louis crowd was chanting, “Thank you, Cena.” The Prototype appeared so conflicted about the positive reaction from those in attendance, but he decided to walk away.
John Cena has less than 25 dates left with WWE
It’s been claimed in a story by WCVB TV that John Cena will compete in his last WWE match on December 13. The said date, though not announced yet by WWE, will be Saturday Night’s Main Event special, live on NBC, emanating from Boston, Cena’s hometown. After his successful retention of the Undisputed WWE title at Backlash, The Babe Ruth of WWE is only left with 24 more appearances for the company.

From here onwards, the 48-year-old is rumored to wrestle R-Truth in just about two weeks. Cena is also advertised for the Money in the Bank PLE on June 7. It’d be interesting to see who could pose a real threat to the actor’s title reign. CM Punk has teased coming after it. However, WWE could hold on to this blockbuster of a showdown for an event like SummerSlam in August.
Thus far, Cena’s 2025 retrospective includes finishing runner-up to Jey Uso in the men’s Royal Rumble match. Next was his win inside the Elimination Chamber, where, after the match, he turned heel on Cody Rhodes. At WrestleMania 41, The Franchise Player would go on to beat The American Nightmare with a slight assist from Travis Scott. There were no signs of The Rock despite the incessant fan speculation.
Cody Rhodes to return soon for revenge against John Cena?
The way John Cena stripped Cody Rhodes of the Undisputed WWE title at WrestleMania 41 was bittersweet. Even though it took Cena to a place where he could proudly boast of being an unprecedented 17-time world champion, his opponent, Rhodes, was left in the trenches.

Moreover, The Rock‘s absence only exacerbated the cause. Almost everyone believes that The Final Boss needed to be there to accentuate the ending. A mere Travis Scott interference was what WWE could come up with to have Rhodes lose to Cena. The former AEW EVP has been off TV since that devastating blow.
ESPN projects John Cena’s final matches in WWE:
— Wrestle Ops (@WrestleOps) April 29, 2025
• John Cena defeats Randy Orton at Backlash (May)
• Jey Uso defeats John Cena to retain the World Heavyweight Championship at MITB (June)
• John Cena defeats CM Punk at SNME (July)

He’s expected to return soon and would likely resume his quest to regain his lost glory. The fans might have to get through a tag team matchup that’d see Bad Bunny on Rhodes’ side taking on Cena and Scott. It could be a potential SummerSlam matchup before The American Nightmare gets his rematch against the man who’s on a mission to ruin wrestling.
