NASCAR is a tough sport. Races often stretch on for hours with drivers having to push themselves to the limit without any real breaks. Sometimes, this leads to difficult situations for drivers, not just over their fitness, but even when it comes to going to the bathroom. HMS star Kyle Larson recently opened up one such embarrassing moment he faced a few years ago.
At the iconic Coca Cola 600 a few years ago, Larson was facing a nature’s call mid-race. This is not the first time a driver has revealed such a situation with Tyler Reddick having confessed that he once peed in his firesuit. However, for Kyle Larson, things were much worse, since he was in a position of doing the number 2 in the car.
The 32-year-old was asked about the most miserable moment he has ever had in NASCAR. Kyle Larson claimed that it happened a couple of years ago in the Coca Cola 600. The HMS star was suffering from a stomach bug and had no choice but to relieve some pressure while he was still in the car. Larson admitted that the embarrassing moment made him feel extremely miserable.
The Coke 600, I don’t remember what year it was, but I had a stomach bug going on, and yeah, we had to relieve some pressure. It felt good, but it was miserable. Very miserable.
Kyle Larson told The Athletic
Following the incident, Kyle Larson had to ensure that no one noticed the stains on his racesuit. To make matters worse, he was wearing a white one that day. Luckily, it seems that no one realized what had unfolded.
With the HMS star running to the golf cart before rushing inside his motorhome to clean himself. The 32-year-old must’ve hated the moment this happened but now can look back at the incident and laugh over it with fans.
I had a white suit, and I didn’t know what it looked like back there. I just lowered it and ran over to my golf cart and my bus driver and hauled ass in the motorhome. It was bad.

Kyle Larson demands drastic NASCAR change
The NASCAR community remains divisive over the future of the sport. Many have criticized NASCAR for not taking drivers’ feedback seriously while formulating new rules. Moreover, veteran drivers including Kyle Busch are unhappy with the current NextGen cars. Kyle Larson has now hinted that the sport might need a big change to make it exciting yet again.

Larson was asked if he agreed with former NASCAR team owner Tony Stewart‘s remarks of drivers not being taken seriously over rule changes. The 32-year-old had not heard Stewart’s comments, but laid down his own views over the situation. The HMS star admitted that drivers are ready for some changes to turn around the current ‘stale’ status of the sport. So much so, that he urged NASCAR to bring a drastic overhaul.
It’s a decent size increase, but it’s not massive. I’d be open for it. I know we all are. I think it’s gotten a little bit stale.. the racing obviously, the product and all that. So I think we’re in need of a change, a drastic change, to try and help.
Kyle Larson said during pre-race in Kansas
Kyle Larson is a driver who does not shy away from speaking his mind. The HMS star has acknowledged that something new could make the sport more exciting for viewers. This might be necessary to retain the NASCAR fanbase in the coming years. Moreover, the issue of the polarizing NextGen car still remains. As such, it remains to be seen if the sport does consider the feedback of Larson and the rest of the field.
