Shedeur Sanders bought a Rolls-Royce days after signing his rookie contract with the Cleveland Browns. The 23-year-old quarterback shared a video of the delivery company dropping off the newly minted car in front of the Browns’ facility on his older brother’s YouTube channel, Well of Media.
Sanders could have earned millions through his first contract, similar to Cam Ward in Tennessee. The unprecedented draft day slide cost Sanders a lot of money.
As he was picked in the fifth round, Sanders signed a four-year, $4.6 million contract with the Cleveland Browns. He will earn a few more pennies than a million each year. It didn’t stop him from buying a new Rolls-Royce worth $500k.
Shedeur Sanders’ new custom Rolls-Royce in that Cleveland Browns colorway is so clean… it’s DIRTY. 🔥😮💨

Shedeur Sanders failed to impress social media with his Rolls-Royce
The new paint on Shedeur’s new car sparkled under the sunlight. The olive-green hue made it stand out even more among all the other cars in the parking lot in front of the Browns’ facility.

However, the color drew mixed reactions from fans on the internet. Most thought it looked bland on a car like a Rolls-Royce.
What a waste of money.

Sorry, but that is the ugliest color I have ever seen in a car. Of course, I also believe the Browns have the worst color scheme and ugliest uniforms of any sports team.

One of the reasons the NFL doesn’t like him. He could do this before the pros. Hell before NIL.

That’s ok it’s now worth 30% less once it rolled off the truck.

This is an L financially. Dropping that much on a depreciating asset. Athletes need to get accountants after signing contracts

I guess he’s planning on living with daddy all his life who buys a car like that before a home.

I want to ask him why he picked that color, but he’d just ask me what color my Rolls-Royce is. https://t.co/4DEIbCQzC3

Regardless of how anyone feels, Sanders deserved a new ride after what he went through during the draft. But how did a fifth-round rookie who only recently signed a contract afford to buy a Rolls-Royce?
The answer lies in his college life. Sanders signed NIL contracts with several big-name brands while starring for Jackson State and Colorado in college. As per On3.com, he earned around $6.5 million from the deal.
Former NFL quarterback Cam Newton recently explained that Sanders has the potential to earn big if he sticks around long enough.
There’s no fifth-year option [in Shedeur’s contract]. Now, if you do what you’re supposed to do, Shedeur — everything you’re capable of — you can get to that bag… We just saw somebody make $265 million!

The ’someone’ Newton mentioned is Brock Purdy, who signed a five-year, $265 million contract with the San Francisco 49ers. Purdy was the last pick in the 2022 NFL draft. When his chance arrived, the 25-year-old grabbed it with both hands. He led the Niners to a Super Bowl appearance and won an NFL title.
