Dan Patrick gave Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry a big surprise. Patrick dialed Henry’s favorite actor, Adam Sandler, who promised him a role in one of his movies.

Patrick sent a recorded message from Sandler to Henry while he was at Ravens OTA. The 31-year-old opened the message to find a very gloomy Sandler.

The Longest Yard actor claimed he was at a hotel, sleeping. However, Sandler didn’t let a little dooziness stop him from recording the message.

I look disgusting, on top of the fact I am disgusting, but I love you. Congrats on everything, baby. 2000 yards, plus this year gets you not only in the movie, but we have a nice dinner together and talk about Dan Patrick’s facial hair.

Adam Sandler said

Patrick promised Henry a chance to star alongside Sandler in a movie. His only condition was that the All-Pro rusher cross 2000 yards like the 2020 season, when he ran 2027 yards and scored 17 rushing touchdowns.

Saquon Barkley stole the limelight in 2024. The Philadelphia Eagles’ star rusher recorded 2283 scrimmage yards from 378 attempts and scored 13 touchdowns. Henry wasn’t far behind. His season ended with 1,921 yards from 325 attempts and a league-best 16 rushing touchdowns.

Even though he missed out on 2k yards, Pro Football Focus graded him (94.2) as the best overall running back in pro football.

With Sandler’s blessing, he might eclipse 2k yards again, becoming the first RB to do so. Fans are rooting for Henry to achieve his goal.

Henry will be among the front-runners alongside Barkley for the best running back title once more. But is he quick enough to outrun his quarterback, Lamar Jackson, in a race?

“Oh, I like me,” Derrick Henry replied with a smile.

Henry believes he is still as fast as he was during the NFL Combine all those years ago. He ran 40 yards in 4.54 seconds before the draft. While it’s doubtful whether he can match that number, NFL Next Gen Stats revealed Henry clocked 21.72 miles per hour in Week 7 of the 2024 season.
