Ex-WWE Star Reacts to Naomi Paying Homage to Her After Becoming Ms. Money in the Bank 2025
Naomi is at the top of her world after emerging as this year's Ms. Money in the Bank. While doing so, she paid tribute to Carmella.

In one of the most celebrated moments in recent history, Trinity Fatu, aka Naomi, won the 2025 women’s Money in the Bank ladder match on Saturday night at the Intuit Dome. Interestingly enough, the 37-year-old paid homage to the first-ever Ms. MITB, Carmella, by rocking the latter’s then-WWE gear. It didn’t go unnoticed by Mella, who gave Fatu her flowers in a congratulatory post on X.
The Princess of Staten Island quoted a reply to Naomi posing with the MITB briefcase. Mella noted, “Congrats sis!!! was rooting for you!!” Mella, quite a trailblazer as far as the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match is concerned, was greeted by Naomi, with the latter extolling her influence. The Queen of Glow was long overdue for a sustained singles push on the main roster, and she’s finally getting to live it.

Naomi had been dealing with Jade Cargill for the majority of this year. They even had a one-on-one encounter at WrestleMania 41, which, on the given night, went the way of the ex-AEW star. These women haven’t let go of their differences, which stemmed from the Anoa’i family member orchestrating a parking lot assault on Cargill in November 2024.

Naomi’s then-tag team partner, Bianca Belair, was heartbroken once she found out that Fatu had been feigning innocence since subbing in for The Storm. Belair and Naomi came face-to-face on SmackDown recently, where The Queen of Glow claimed that she stopped by The EST’s house in Knoxville before pulling up to the show.
Is Becky Lynch concerned of being cashed-in on by Naomi?
In the only singles title match at MITB, Becky Lynch finally trumped her Irish compatriot Lyra Valkyria to become the new women’s Intercontinental Champion. The Man couldn’t do it at Backlash last month, but she made it in LA by hook or by crook. After the match ended, she made Valkyria put the title belt around her waist in a sign of disrespect for her opponent.

The Bird Lady has had enough of Lynch’s condescending acts, and the latter was eventually beaten up. At the post-show press conference, The Man was asked about potentially being cashed in on by Naomi now that she has the rightful contract to do it. Lynch dismissed any hype around The Queen of Glow’s watershed moment and underscored that she was hurt to know that her daughter Roux was rooting for Naomi to win.

I guess Naomi better proceed with caution when it comes to her targets. #MITB pic.twitter.com/4ygwZmjMQf
It’d be interesting to see if The Irish Lass Kicker ends up eating her own words if Trinity Fatu decides to go after the women’s IC strap. Lynch, while answering the same question as above, subtly referenced Naomi walking out of WWE in 2022 along with Mercedes Mone, fka Sasha Banks. Speaking of the latter, the current AEW star has also reacted to her running mate’s MITB glory.

Big E’s kind words made Naomi emotional during MITB press conference
Moments after Becky Lynch’s animated appearance at the MITB post-show press conference, Naomi also joined the panel comprising Vic Joseph, Peter Rosenberg, and Big E. The former Impact Knockouts Champion got emotional as the former New Day member went on to pour tons of praise on her.

E noted that she and Naomi started their pro wrestling journeys a week apart in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) in August 2009. The former IC Champion then talked about Naomi’s unparalleled 16-year evolution from that point on.

The fans in the background started chanting “You deserve it” at the ex-women’s champion, but she stayed in character and dismissed the crowd support in a sign of savagery. She said she doesn’t need it now. Naomi, however, was extremely appreciative of Big E’s comments about her.
