Lewis Hamilton has suffered from a dismal start to his debut Ferrari season. The Briton was expected to fight for both championships, but he remains unable even to achieve a podium finish. Due to this, multiple rumors began circulating about Hamilton seeking early retirement from the Italian constructor. However, the 40-year-old has squashed all the rumors and provided an update on his future with the Scuderia.

Lewis Hamilton had clarified in the past that he intended to race in Formula 1 for atleast until he was 50. Still, many notable figures believed that the 40-year-old was losing hope in Ferrari after a series of poor performances and wanted an early exit. Despite Hamilton facing some challenging conditions in the team, he showcases his faith in F1’s most historic team and refuses to give up so easily.

Speaking of the incessant retirement rumors, Lewis Hamilton addressed such people and pointed out that he had just started his career with Ferrari. While Hamilton’s contract runs out by the end of the 2026 season, he put forth his readiness to expand his contract beyond its current expiration. The 40-year-old clearly stated that he was in the game for the ‘long haul’.

Hamilton insisted that there were no questions to be raised over his priorities with Ferrari and what he planned to do in the coming years. Hence, people had zero reasons to doubt his continuation with the Prancing Horses despite facing a couple of challenging situations. Finally, the seven-time champion urged people not to make stuff up just for the sake of content.

The Briton has managed to keep his fashion side alive as he reveals some details about other projects he is working on. Hamilton pointed out that Formula 1 isn’t his only project this year as he is also working on some other businesses.

Hamilton reckoned that he was going through a ‘whirlwind’ of a year, owing to all the massive changes in his life this year. The Briton thanked the new brand partners whom he welcomed after racing for Ferrari. The 40-year-old also opened up regarding his Dior project and how he was working on other business ventures as well. Still, the seven-time champion claimed that he wanted to race at the forefront despite being actively involved in so many projects.

It’s been a whirlwind of a year. I’ve got great new brand partners that I’m working with. I’ve just released my collection with Dior, I’ve got lots of business ventures that are going really well. Everything generally outside of the racetrack is going amazing. But I want to be [racing] at the front, obviously.

Ferrari must come up with immediate performance improvement to retain Hamilton’s interest in the team beyond his current contract expiration. The Briton has showcased his availability to rebuild himself with the Italian constructor on many occasions. Now, it is up to the Scuderia to prove that they respect the 40-year-old and his feedback on where to improve the team as a whole.
