The 2025 NASCAR Cup season so far hasn’t been kind two times champion Kyle Busch. He hasn’t won a single race since the 2023 World Wide Technology Raceway event in June. Other than some close calls, there hasn’t been any signs of the No:8 team getting back on the victory lane. Now his brother and the 2004 Cup winner Kurt Busch has addressed the situation.
Kurt Busch, who is serving as the grand marshal for the Cup Series event at Pocono Raceway, was asked about his brother’s form. He admitted that Kyle Busch and his teammate Austin Dillon is having a pretty bad season in 2025. The ex-23XI Racing driver the highlighted that these kinds of drops are part of the sport and will happen to even the best.
Yeah, I’m seeing the slump from the No. 8 car and the No. 3 car this year, but those things happen. I mean, you’re on top of your game one year, you come back to the track next year and you’re like, ‘Why am I P20 on the board.’ It happens.
Kurt Busch said via Amazon Prime Video.
Other than five top-10 finishes, that features just a sole top-5 run, Kyle Busch hasn’t produced any good finishes in the 16 races this season. The most disappointing stat about the veteran’s performance is the fact that he finished outside the top-20 in almost half of the races, in a car fielded by a legacy team like RCR.
His teammate Austin Dillon is also having a disappointing year, with the only positive factor for him is fact that he scored a win in 2024, though it was controversial. Other than 3 top-10 finishes, he hasn’t had any solid race this season. He finished outside the top-20 seven times from the 16 races, proving he struggling just as bad or worse than Busch.
Kyle Busch has unfinished business in Maine
To get back to his winning form, and gain some momentum, Kyle Busch is set to start in some prestigious non-NASCAR events in the upcoming month. He will race in the Super Late Model event at Oxford Plains Speedway in July.

Kyle Busch is set to race for Go Fas Racing’s No. 51 car sponsored by CorvetteParts.Net in the second round of Oxford Crown Jewel Triple Crown Series. He has won in the past at Oxford, and is determined to revisit the victory lane.
Talking about this upcoming event, Kyle Busch admitted that he has some unfished business for the weekend. He is looking forward to having a fun time, be competitive against the northerners and gave the late model fans something the cheer for, alongside the rowdy nation.
I’ve got some unfishined business up there in Maine. I’m looking forward to coming back up to Oxford Plains Speedway for the Celebration of America 300 on July 1-2. Be sure to be there… It’s going to be a lot of fun racing against all the northerners again. I enjoyed it last time. I want to go up there this time and get back into victory lane.

It’s a great opportunity for the veteran to get back his winning mojo and also influence the mind-set of his team, with NASCAR having two more wild card events (road course races) in the coming weeks. This gives the team more opportunity race fast, considering they are behind development compared to the dominant sides in the normal oval tracks.
