The 23XI Racing Team is currently undergoing a massive performance slump as both Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick suffer from mediocre results. Both drivers have been unable to achieve any Cup Series wins this season and have not secured their spots in the playoffs yet.
Wallace has remained vocal about the struggles faced this season and is ready to work hard to improve his position. However, amidst 23XI’s trying times, ex-NASCAR champion Kevin Harvick has raised concerns about their race pace and insignificant results.
Bubba Wallace has amassed over 412 points and is just 29 points above the playoff cutline after wrecking in Pocono. The 31-year-old has achieved three top-3 finishes with no victories to write a story about.
Meanwhile, Tyler Reddick is comparatively better than his counterpart as he occupies the P7 spot, having achieved over 490 points this season. Still, 23XI needs to find massive improvement in their pace if they want to win races and emerge as the favorites to win the championship title.
Kevin Harvick asserted that there were some concerns regarding 23XI and their speed in general. The 49-year-old reckoned that Tyler Reddick wasn’t as fast despite being ahead in the standings. Harvick continued that Bubba Wallace started out well and lost speed along the way, and couldn’t score good enough results in the recent weeks.
I would say there are some concerns about the 23XI speed in general, I don’t think Reddick has been as fast; I think Bubba started really well and has been kind of average in a lot of the most recent weeks
Kevin Harvick said on the Happy Hour podcast.
Kevin Harvick further pointed out that Tyler Reddick’s speed in the #45 Challenger remained concerning to him. Harvick acknowledged that Reddick did a good job driving error-free and maximizing results based on performance. Still, speed was the biggest concern for the 29-year-old as the one-time Cup Champion noted that neither of the drivers was fast enough in the recent weekends.
To me, the speed part from the 45 car is concerning to me. He’s done a good job with his experience in keeping cars in races and getting finishes out of them, but that overall raw speed — I haven’t seen it from either one of them in several weeks.
Kevin Harvick added.
Bubba Wallace laments ‘no results’ at Pocono after wreck during Stage 2
Bubba Wallace’s weekend in Pocono was extremely disappointing, as he started the race from the back of the field due to unapproved adjustments. As such, Wallace faced extreme difficulties in moving up the grid on race day. Moreover, a brutal wreck on Lap 56 for the No.23 driver caused him to not finish and walk out of the race with no points.

Wallace pointed out that his wreck this year was much softer than his brutal crash in the 2018 Pocono race in the past. Still, the 31-year-old pointed out that he appreciated 23XI’s efforts to bring in fast cars over the race weekends. However, the #23 driver could not finish the race with any results to boast about as he never got to see the true pace and potential of the car in Pocono.
A lot softer than 2018, Keep bringing fast race cars. I appreciate the effort. No results to show for it. After practice, it was going to be embarrassing for the rest of the field, I thought. Never got to see it.

23XI will now have to work hard on their challengers and ensure that the drivers aren’t limited in their results due to mediocre car performance. All three cars fielded by Denny Hamlin‘s co-owned teams faced braking issues in Pocono.
Now, the team must ensure that such a situation isn’t faced by the drivers in the upcoming races. Both Wallace and Reddick will look to keep up with consistent efforts and secure their position in the NASCAR playoffs.
