Roman Reigns Left Gasping for Air by Jacob Fatu in Contract Signing Chaos on Raw Before WWE Backlash
Jacob Fatu once again used the vicious Tongan Death Grip on Roman Reigns to great effect just days before their Backlash match.

Jacob Fatu made Roman Reigns wait until the end of this week’s Raw to sign their contract for the world title match at Backlash. After having a dead stare at each other in the ring, Reigns asked Fatu whether he noticed how the crowd in Omaha erupted when ‘The OTC’ asked it to acknowledge him. That, to Reigns, was the sound of respect.
‘The Tribal Chief’ affirmed that one needs to earn their respect in this business, as it’s not something that’s handed out. Reigns countered Fatu saying last week on Raw that he grinded for 12 years by reminding his cousin that he’s been in WWE for more than that.
Moreover, Reigns was the one who let Solo Sikoa into this business, and therefore it was Reigns who indirectly brought Fatu in too. And that’s why he’d be damned if there’s no respect for him. The ex-‘Big Dog’ said there has to be a certain system of conduct in their family on which they could hang their hats.

Reigns then brought up Fatu using the Tongan Death Grip to choke him out on last week’s Raw. It was meant to be the last resort, and ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ used it to disrespect Reigns. ‘The OTC’ was repulsed at Fatu doing something that grim to his tribal chief, the mention of which made Fatu chuckle. The latter reaffirmed that he’s indeed desperate to turn his life around.

The ex-US Champion talked about making sure to never regress in his life and said if that would need him to run roughshod even through his family, then so be it. ‘The OTC’ questioned Fatu if that’s what it was all about—managing a household. Roman Reigns couldn’t wrap his head around it and said if that’s truly it, then he’s the one who’s worried about a hundred and seventy Samoan kids and not just Fatu’s seven.

He’s got the proof of concept, and that’s why WWE is always keen on doing business with him. The 40-year-old brought up the time when he told Brock Lesnar that he owned the ring they were in. While they were equals in their family, Reigns talked down on Fatu by saying that he was beneath him in that ring.
It made Fatu snap, and he tried putting the Tongan Death Grip again on the world champ, who slipped out and smashed an office chair on Fatu’s face. Reigns then thought of tattooing Fatu with the world title, for which he took a little too long to get in position, and it cost him dearly.

‘The Samoan Werewolf’ finally had the Tongan Death Grip locked in on Roman Reigns, who was writhing in agony with GM Adam Pearce trying to break them free. The erstwhile enforcer of Sikoa put Reigns through the table. Fatu then signed the contract next to a grounded Reigns, who was gasping for air. ‘The OTC’ was laid out like that for the second straight week on Raw.
Roman Reigns came face-to-face with Seth Rollins on Raw
Roman Reigns was seen exiting his SUV in the beginning of Raw, and he was incensed. ‘The Head of the Table’ wanted Jacob Fatu at any cost, and he wouldn’t listen to Adam Pearce pleading with him for a chat in his office about their contract signing. They kept arguing for a while until they reached the gorilla position, and Pearce broke it to Reigns that Fatu wasn’t there yet.

Reigns, sporting a disappointed look on his face, turned to Seth Rollins, staring at him next. It elicited a huge crowd reaction from the crowd on hand. ‘The Visionary’ muttered to his former Shield brother that Reigns was in his way. ‘The OTC’ didn’t utter a word, and Rollins called for his music to be hit as he was headed to the ring.

Their interaction felt big-time, and it made the fans feel that they needed to see the two of them collide soon. Reigns was expected to face Rollins at this year’s WrestleMania before ‘The Architect’ hurt his shoulder last year. Rollins said on Raw after WrestleMania that Bron Breakker‘s the only reason why Reigns has that world title around his waist.
It sure does seem like WWE has Reigns vs. Rollins in its back pocket, and they’d want to use it wisely. Although it’s too early to call it, this could headline this year’s SummerSlam in what would be a mega money match for the company that has to fill a respectable amount of seats at the US Bank Stadium across two nights.
