In Short
  • Caitlin Clark has set multiple WNBA records, including being the first player to achieve multiple games with 30+ points and 10+ assists.
  • She surpassed Courtney Vandersloot's record for the most games with 20+ points and 10+ assists, achieving this in just 57 games.
  • Clark's recent performances have led to her being highlighted by Nike, emphasizing her significant impact in the league despite her young career.

Last season, new fans who followed Caitlin Clark into the WNBA saw their hopes dashed as she could not improve on her rookie-season performance to become an MVP favorite.

Soft-tissue injuries not only curtailed her season but also left her struggling to cope mentally with the simple fact that she could not play the game she loved.

In the offseason, the 24-year-old worked out a new plan that saw her shed quite a bit of the muscle she put on before the 2025 season. With additional work on her game, the Iowa native was just itching to get it on.

Even though she won the FIBA regional qualifiers’ MVP award, she was anxious as the WNBA is an entirely different ballgame. Every season, the competition gets tougher, and this season, with almost all the teams resetting their rosters, it was going to become harder.

After a mid-tier by her standards debut, the superstar has bounced back with stellar performances in every game. In their fourth game of the season against the Seattle Storm, Clark could not repeat her heroics from the previous game.

But she did manage to finish with 21 points, seven rebounds, and 10 assists. That saw her surpass Courtney Vandersloot with the most number of 20+ points and 10+ assists games. Moreover, she did all that in just 57 games.

No wonder Nike had to hype their signature athlete, as she has done things that no one envisioned could ever happen. Caitlin Clark surpassed Vandersloot, Diana Taurasi, and Skylar Diggins, all of whom have played a decade more basketball than her.

Caitlin Clark adds another record after WNBA corrects stats from previous game

Clark recorded 32 points and 9 assists in the Indiana Fever’s previous overtime loss against ‘twin’ Sonia Citron‘s Washington Mystics.

But several fans pointed out how the point guard was not allotted an assist or two, despite her clearly helping her teammates to score. It seems that came to the league’s notice, and they corrected her numbers.

Now, her stats from that game read 32 points and 10 assists. With that, she becomes the only player in the league’s 30-year history to record multiple games of 30+ points and 10+ assists. With this correction, her earlier record of 20+ points and 10+ assists moves to 12.

Clark became the first player in WNBA history with at least 20 points and 10 assists in fewer than 25 minutes played. This was also her fourth straight game with 20+ PTS & 5+ AST, tied for the longest streak to start a season in WNBA history.

ESPN Insights noted

This means that she managed to add another record after her performance against the Storm. Now, Clark is just one more game away from notching another one.

NBC commentator silences Caitlin Clark’s critics

During the Indiana Fever’s game against the Seattle Storm, NBC commentator LaChina Robinson noted that Clark had been responsible for 38 of her team’s 77 points at the time.

Hearing this, fellow commentator Kate Scott remarked,

That’s worth mentioning, LaChina, because we all read the comments, right? Some folks have a problem with how much Caitlin turns the ball over… When you are handling the ball all the time, you are going to have turnovers.

Kate Scott said

The commentator pointed out how ball handlers in the NBA have a high number of turnovers. That is common because a point guard is bound to turn the ball over while trying to initiate the offense. Scott asked those critics to calm down, reminding them that this is how basketball is played.
