- Caitlin Clark received her first technical foul of the season during a game against the Golden State Valkyries.
- She plans to refrain from criticizing officiating to avoid further fines after being unaware of the technical foul.
- Clark and the Indiana Fever will face the Valkyries again after a five-day break, aiming to build on their recent victory.
Caitlin Clark is already breaking records every time she sets foot on the floor. Now, her swagger and trash talk are also back when she faced the Golden State Valkyries.
This is the one team the Indiana Fever could not beat last season, with Clark either struggling to shoot from beyond the perimeter or being seated on the sidelines due to injury.
After recovering from her injuries, the Iowa native is back doing what she loves best, playing basketball. No wonder, in her games so far, the point guard has been nothing but lights-out.
Clark already has multiple records in the past few games, and fans believe she will be a candidate to win the regular-season MVP award. Now that his swagger is also back, it might be a possibility.
This season, she has generally tried to stay on the good side of the officials, but a war of words with Janelle Salaun ensured she would get her first technical foul of the season. What was surprising was that she was not aware of that.
Oh, did I get a technical?… Aah, it just makes sense for the refs tonight… I could have been ejected. I should have been a little bit safer in the second half… Guess I have some fines coming my way. Well, the refs were interesting, but I’m not going to say anything else, cause I’ve got $1000 worth of fines coming my way.

From Caitlin Clark‘s response, it is clear that she was not made aware of the technical foul. Then, because of that, and the fine on the flagrant 1, she was going to hold her tongue on her opinion about the officiating.
Caitlin Clark had been on the officials throughout the game
In previous games, Caitlin Clark has not been as outspoken against officiating as she was in her first two seasons. Fans remember her going at officials even though she was just a benchwarmer last year.
This time, she praised officials for changing how they viewed games. But in this game against the Golden State Valkyries, there were quite a few instances where she could not stop from talking to them.
That’s the same call. Call it over there.
Caitlin Clark yelled at the official
This incident took place late in the second quarter when Clark was called for a foul when Tiffany Hayes bumped into her. The point guard wanted to point out that she and her teammates weren’t getting the same calls when it was their turn.

That and other instances are why the Hawkeye great wanted to say something about the officiating, but stopped when she knew she was already in the league’s red column.
Caitlin Clark and Fever will play Valkyries again after a long gap
After missing the last game due to a sore back, Caitlin Clark managed to end this game with their first win over the Valkyries. She and her Indiana Fever will face them again in their next game.

This time, the game is in Golden State, which means the home fans will be out in droves to cheer for their squad. The Valkyries will also have a chance to return to their winning games when they take on the Connecticut Sun in two days.
The Fever, on the other hand, will not play basketball for the next five days. It will give them time to rest their bodies before they face a condensed schedule in June. During this period, Clark and her teammates should review what they need to improve. Rest assured, the Valkyries will be out for revenge when the Fever arrive at Chase Center.
