Lamar Jackson is a two-time NFL MVP, and to some, he’s the best dual-threat quarterback ever to play in the league. And yet, the biggest prize in football has eluded him. For Jackson to truly establish himself as one of the greatest of all time, he must win a Super Bowl. However, two-time champion Ben Roethlisberger believes Jackson’s window has closed.

In a recent segment of “Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger,” the former Pittsburgh Steelers signal caller didn’t pull any punches while talking about Jackson’s chances of winning a ring.

I think they’re [the Baltimore Ravens] falling apart. I really … I don’t think they’re the same team. These feel different. They feel like their window closed.

Ben Roethlisberger said

According to Big Ben, the Ravens made a mistake by replacing John Harbaugh. Sure, the Ravens couldn’t finish the job in the playoffs, but Harbaugh kept the team competitive year after year.

Moreover, the main guys on the Ravens are no longer young. Jackson is 29, running back Derrick Henry is 32.

You just feel like, ‘What was going on with Lamar [Jackson] last year?’ He just didn’t seem like the Lamar that we’ve been used to seeing. Maybe he was injured. I think he took some shots last year that we didn’t think about. So, maybe he’ll have a bounce-back year and be great again.

Jackson suffered multiple injuries last season. He missed a few games due to a hamstring issue and, near the end of the year, carried a sore knee. He went 6-7 (first losing season), registered 192 completions for 2549 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions.

Roethlisberger offered some hope. He predicted the Ravens and the Steelers would split their matchups. However, he also had the Steelers finish 12-5 and win the AFC North for the second straight year.

As for Henry, sure, he’s getting old, but the 6-foot-2, 242-pound rusher finished 2025 on a strong note. In 17 games, Henry rushed 307 times for 1595 yards (fifth 1500-yard season) and scored 16 rushing touchdowns. Slowing him down won’t be an easy task.

Even though the Ravens missed the playoffs in 2025, FOX Sports considers them the second-favorite to win the Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium in February 2027.

Insider makes a wild claim about Lamar Jackson’s future

Jackson is among the highest-paid quarterbacks in football. In 2023, he signed a five-year contract worth $260 million, or $52 million APY. Three years removed, Jackson is due another extension.

Last time Jackson nearly left the Ravens because the front office took eons to pay him. If history repeats itself, then Jackson might actually contemplate leaving Baltimore to try his luck elsewhere.

NFL insider Jason La Canfora of Sports Illustrated noted the Philadelphia Eagles as the perfect fit for Jackson.

If the Eagles are still looking to upgrade at QB after this season, could see Howie Roseman inserting himself into this Lamar situation in a big deal. If Jackson isn’t extended by Week 1, they will be hanging a huge ‘Call Us About Our Quarterback After The Season’ sign on the front of their franchise.

La Canfora wrote

The Eagles won a ring just two years ago with quarterback Jalen Hurts bagging the Super Bowl MVP title. However, it has been downhill since then. Wide receiver AJ Brown forced a trade away from the team as he no longer wanted to play with Hurts.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is a big believer in Hurts. However, the NFL is a results business. If Hurts fails to prove that he’s the right man to lead the Eagles, then it won’t surprise anyone if Roseman makes a trade.
