Caitlin Clark recently made it clear that she and Nike are not going to roll out any more custom PEs from the Kobe Protro series. That could only indicate one thing.

The Indiana Fever superstar might be the sneaker giant’s most talked-about ambassador, but they have been waiting a long time to design and perfect her signature shoe.

To avoid controversy, the company prioritized A’ja Wilson‘s first signature shoe, which proved successful. Now, they have also launched the A’Two, her second shoe.

In the meantime, Nike is gearing up for the Sabrina Fours, while also helping NBA superstars launch their own new shoes and custom PEs. Therefore, it is unlikely that the company will be accused of focusing completely on Clark now.

Almost all the custom PEs so far have sold out, which is enough indication to anyone following sneaker news that the upcoming Caitlin 1’s will likely be gone in minutes.

When unveiling her signature logo last year, it was revealed that the 1s will be released sometime later this year. Now, it seems the Iowa native herself has given an obvious clue about its launch date.

Caitlin Clark arrived for their game against the Toronto Tempo wearing a royal blue suit and a white top. Along with them, she sported a set of friendship bracelets.

When she brought her hand towards the camera, the word Caitlin 1 was very visible. The bracelet just below it read, 10-01-26. This means that on October 1st this year, Nike will likely launch the 24-year-old’s first signature sneaker.

Caitlin Clark not ready to reveal when she will debut her Caitlin 1s

Other than the date reveal, it seems Caitlin Clark deliberately wore royal blue to the game. Her Instagram handle has been changed to Caitlin 1, and small blue ‘Cs’ surrounding a Nike logo have been placed as her profile picture.

This points to the possibility of her debut shoe being blue in color, and could also sport those fine details. The point guard has revealed, while speaking with the Kelce brothers, that the shoe will feature the sneaker giant’s latest technology.

Now that she has revealed the launch date as October 1st, it is possible that she would wear it during the WNBA playoffs, if her Fever survives until that stage. When asked whether she has a launch date in mind, Clark admitted. Then, when asked to share it, she said:

No.

Caitlin Clark replied to Tony East

She said this with her trademark smile, knowing how everyone would want to know when she was going to wear them for the first time in public.

Her response ensured that nothing would take the shine off the day when her signature shoes were on her feet on a basketball court. Both she and Nike have been working hard to hype this product for some time.

Caitlin Clark drops 14 assists to help Fever win fourth-straight game

While fans have to wait for Caitlin Clark‘s first signature shoe to debut, they can enjoy watching her play basketball, which they couldn’t last season.

After returning to play this year, the superstar guard has been on a tear. Sure, she has had a few moments when she criticized her own performances.

In fact, the box score might say she scored 21 points against the Toronto Tempo. But in reality, 10 of those were from free throws. Her miserable efficiency from distance (1-8) was one of the reasons she could not register more points.

Once she realized her shot was not falling, she took to assisting her teammates. The point guard did what players in her position are supposed to do, registering 14 assists by the end of the night.

That, along with her improving defense, ensured that the Fever would win their fourth straight game. That was the bigger achievement, considering they struggled early on in the season.
