Turki Alalshikh has become one of the most influential figures in modern boxing in recent years. He has reshaped the sport through Saudi investment in global fight promotions and events. His financial backing gives him strong control over matchmaking. However, he is now ready to use that influence to settle the rivalry between Dana White and Eddie Hearn over the Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury superfight.

Alalshikh is a Saudi Arabian government official and the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, overseeing major sports and entertainment events. He also bought the infamous Ring Magazine from Oscar De La Hoya in 2024. His influence has grown through Riyadh Season, where he has helped stage fights, including the likes of Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol and Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford.

Fury vs Joshua has been one of the most anticipated fights in boxing for years, but it has not materialized due to contractual and promotional disputes. Alalshikh has pushed a unified framework for the fight. It remains the biggest fight in British boxing and is now closer to happening after long delays, with Hearn, Frank Warren, and White at odds over promotion, while Alalshikh works to resolve the dispute.

I’ll do my best to do a meeting soon between my brothers Dana White, Nick Khan, Frank Warren, Eddie Hearn, and my partners and friends at DAZN to make peace and revolution for boxing. I hope I succeed & boxing fans see white smoke rise from the chimney. I want to do it before losing my memory. I’m afraid in 2028 or 2029 I’ll forget my name.

Hearn and White have been at odds since White spoke about modernizing boxing through Zuffa Boxing. Hearn has pushed back against that vision, defending boxing’s traditional promotional model. He is also the longtime promoter of Joshua, which he believed made him a frontrunner for Joshua vs Fury. However, White recently said promoting the British superfight is a major part of his 2026 schedule.

Hearn and White are both linked to Alalshikh through Saudi Arabia’s boxing expansion and Riyadh Season events. Hearn has worked directly with the Saudi phenom through Matchroom Boxing cards, including major Saudi-hosted fight nights featuring Anthony Joshua and Dmitry Bivol. White’s link is more recent, tied to Zuffa Boxing plans and Saudi-backed discussions about modernizing boxing promotion.

Turki Alalshikh’s comments also highlighted concerns about his long-term health. He revealed fears that by 2028 or 2029 he could suffer serious memory issues, a notable statement given his past battle with a brain tumor near his pituitary gland and other health problems. As he works to resolve boxing’s biggest disputes, the 44-year-old promoter appears determined to achieve those goals while he still can.

Turki Alalshikh’s involvement in boxing has helped deliver some of the sport’s biggest events in recent years. He recently helped arrange the Oleksandr Usyk vs Rico Verhoeven superfight at the Pyramids of Giza, a landmark event blending boxing and global spectacle. His investment has made several high-profile matchups possible while expanding boxing’s reach to new audiences and venues.

Alalshikh’s recent message about peace between rival boxing promoters drew attention across the combat sports world. UFC star Conor McGregor was among those who commended the Saudi executive’s efforts to unite the sport. However, WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia focused on Turki Alalshikh’s health concerns, offering support after he revealed deteriorating health in the coming years.

Turki it hurts to hear what you are going thru! Your passion for the sport and the effort you put in has been already revolutionary. It has not been overlooked or taken for granted at least by me and I’m sure by many others I’ll be at my best to show you this sport no matter what happens will be in good hands. You are a fighter! A champion and a hall of famer for boxing.

Garcia remains one of boxing’s fastest-rising stars and one of the sport’s biggest attractions. He is reportedly preparing to face Zuffa Boxing superstar Conor Benn on September 12 in a major crossover event. With his growing influence across combat sports and close involvement in major fight promotions, Turki Alalshikh will undoubtedly play a significant role in building and promoting the matchup.
